I believe I'm finally at an end to my aging and weathering, there comes a time to just STOP! I believe I'm there on my entrance. Have I missed something I'm not seeing?
Major score today and mini update...
After several failed attempts and failed arrangements to buy my Chetsrfield couch, I finally secured the perfect one!
My seating is now complete. Purchasing tables and artwork now.
Finished my stairs coming up, illuminated cubby holes and just about done with my insulation then it's on to the interior stone walls in the stairwell.
Moving along well...

It was worth the hassle and wait, glad I didn't have to finally order one because these things are expensive as you know.

I don't doubt it, I've seen these things go for crazy amounts.
Now I'm gonna have to research my couch, I researched all of my chairs and got an MSRP by the makers on them, but haven't done it yet on the couch.
I got it from a newscaster that lived in this really nice hi-rise apartment in downtown Atlanta that was moving to Mexico and selling everything he couldn't take.
Artwork starting to trickle in, yeah, I'm buying that already too like my helmets.
I always wanted this as a kid, but couldn't afford that kind of money on a statue, it's huge too.
Keeping with the theme, here he is...
"Death Dealer" by Frank Frazetta, (tbh, I had to repaint all the details because it was pretty dismal on delivery), he'll take center stage on a pedestal somewhere in the room.
The horse's expression is the best part of the statue imo.
I always wanted this as a kid, but couldn't afford that kind of money on a statue, it's huge too.

Very, Very cool piece !!! Frank Frazetta did the Molly Hatchet album covers. Originals of these statues were numbered & can go into the tens of thousands of dollars. His original artwork ( he did comic covers too ) is highly sought after & can sell well into $13 Million + area.

I'm a retired graphic designer and now I understand why I always that the band's banner looked so bad on Frank's artwork as a kid. lol
This is the original Death Dealer 1, there's also a 2 and a 3 he did later most don't know about.
I'll probably seek these out too after my room is done, but I haven't seen those for less than $1k yet.
These (cast ceramic, ltd. to 5000) are in the $1-2k range (the "solid bronze" limited to 50 are the one's worth $8-10k). I got mine from an individual off eBay, his wife just wanted it gone I believe? lol
I'll admit, the hand painting looked like it was dry bushed on an assembly line by a 10 year old so I broke out my modeling supplies and fixed it.

Quick update...
Just insulation and dry wall at this point, but I did order my smoke "evacuation" system. Based on the size of my room the entire CFM (cubic feet per minute) volume will be exchanged 25+ times per hour (probably higher because I rounded up on room dimensions).
My buddies are using the AC Infinity 8" system with great results, so I went with them as well, but went 10".
Just insulation and dry wall at this point, but I did order my smoke "evacuation" system. Based on the size of my room the entire CFM (cubic feet per minute) volume will be exchanged 25+ times per hour (probably higher because I rounded up on room dimensions).

...and we're back up and running, the winter was just too wet and cold to get anything done on my Medieval Cigar Lounge so I spent the time and money buying "accoutrements" that will finish out the lounge, think of the Jews with all the furnishing for the Temple Mount in storage for when it's built.
All my wiring is pulled for the sound system and extraneous hidden lighting and appliances. The AC Infinity evack system is now installed and most of my cut-out cubby holes are done too. The only thing left is the R18 insulation in the ceiling now that all my wiring & cables are pulled then on to dry wall. I'll sub out the sheet rock because it'll be quicker and better.
At that point it's just flooring and finish work to be completed, I'm happy with my progress this far...
Exit vent on back side of garage. That was fun.
10" exhaust sealed around the outside and gaps filled with expanding foam inside.
Multiple vents in the ceiling, extraneous cable and sound system wiring pulled too.
Cubby for my Coolidor, wiring hanging on the right is all my sound system wiring, there will be a stereo/surround system cubby rack built here. Opposite wall will get a bar fridge cubby in the wall. Power outlets are also added to the backside of the knee walls for all the appliances.

Since all my finishes will be hand done (by me) I only need my dry wall taped and bedded so maybe that'll save me a few bucks. We're going ahead and having the entire garage down stairs done at the same time which is good because as soon as my cigar lounge is done I can finish my bathroom down there, Medievial of course. A guy's gotta have a place to go ya know, my wife get's tee'd when I piss in the yard, so that's out.
What looks like a s mall door casing is actually the casing for my built in Coolidor, next to that will be the media center with the cabinet yet to be built. All the wires you see hanging is for the speakers.
The media room behind it will be partitioned off and insulted as well with access from inside storage area.
Large screen on this wall and then in front of the half wall will be a bar and will also house the sub and center channel for the surround sound system. I wired for a 5.2.1 system.
Illuminated Wall to wall/floor to ceiling bookcase with a window seat on this end.
The cubby's on the left above the stairs lights are wired for lit displays.
Once the drywall's up it's on to the finish work and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, I hope. lol

Quotes are coming in for the drywall, after that's finished on to the finish work. I used Chatgtp to draw a somewhat rendition of the finished room- pretty close. Some tweeks need to be made, but it'll give you an idea of what's in my head.

It's what Chat supplied so I replaced it with our ancestral castle on the Isle of Munn, Duart castle is owned by the historical society now and open for tours.

Fine tuning Chat without writing code is a pain, more in tune with what my room will look like though, but my ceiling is only around 10" tall at the peak. Great tool, it helped me decide to go to the ceiling with my stone veneer, but you get the idea...

I prefer the look of the 3/4 height veneer you posted earlier. Although the floor to ceiling does carry the dungeon/castle theme better
