Thanks to the uniden 520xl. Served me well up until 2 years ago when it wouldn't recieve any transmission (I think the speaker died). Pulled it out of the jeep along with the wiring, antenna cable, and antenna. The grms made its way to the center of the ARR mount.

Looks like you and I have some work ahead of us.

Likely wont happen for some time for me. I still need to get the poly mounts, build a spacer with a small helper spring, and maybe take a look at a different track bar.

And just for my own sanity and to stay somewhat organized, a list of things needing done:
-Sliders (on hand)
-Torque box repair (on hand)
-Hydro assist (on hand)
-Power steering pump (on hand)
-Savvy BL (on hand)
-Front 12" shocks (on hand)
-Raised body mounts (on hand)
-TRE flip (on hand)
-BMB raised sway bar links (on hand)
-Radiator (on hand)

In the BFH video, you can hear my power steering pump whine constantly. Its something I have been wanting to address and I already have a pump on hand. My rear sway bar bushings are toast and make a lot of noise. At one point, I turtled myself on a boulder and shortly afterwards noticed the spacer on my savvy tuck was loose, so the skid bolts need to be torqued. My toe is off again as well and I noticed the tie rod clamps are not snug enough to keep things from rotating. All minor things.

The view reminds me this trail is on my bucket list. Breathtaking view!

422 miles today. Had one of those jobs where I had to drive 4 hrs to the site for only a couple hours of work. Took the jeep thru Lead King Basin up over to Crystal Mill and then up Schofield/Punchbowl to Crested Butte and back home. Lots of windshield photos.

My turn signals haven't self canceled in years. Ran to the junkyard and picked up a switch from an 01 cherokee.

Garage test and I have turn signals that can self cancel and emergency flashers work!

On my f150 I had a torn exhaust hanger. Snagged one from a early 00s Dodge.

Been a while since any updates. I've began work on my steering. The current pump whines and the steering wheel can move several inches left/right before any reaction to the steering actually happens. The update is hydro assist. I haven't gotten very far. The hydro assist isn't the nearly bolt on kit from BMB, but something I've been piecing together over the last couple years. I'll admit, I have not saved any money this route. I should have gotten his kit to start. It is a fun learning experience to build your own though.

The first thing was shortening the psc ram. This is what Blaine does for his kit. This lets the ram fit a little easier on the axle side and the drag link. This is the 6x1.5 ram psc offers.

I pulled the currie steering out. I had a grease zerk which wouldn't take any grease.
20240106_140703.jpg

I removed the zerk and fished wire thru to remove any debris. That didn't work so ended up shooting it with brake kleen and compressed air which did the trick. This also let me get all the old contaminated grease out. Next I want to put a bend in the drag to help with clearance. Its always been tight. I'll do this later at BFH Garage.

Next up, I removed the old steering box and pump. This was the NAPA reman'd unit from several years back. The new box is another saginaw that has fresh seals and has already been tapped for the HA lines. The pump is another stock unit that I picked up from Starkey when he switched to HA. I think I am going to modify the port on this one to allow for a little more fluid flow. If it doesn't work out or I dont like the performance, Ill give a psc a call.

Loosely installed the new power steering cooler. This is Blaines kit with the -8 fittings and hoses. This is where I ended. Ill pick it up again throughout the week and next.

To complete this still, I need new fluid, misalignment spacers for the ram, build my own drag link mount, mount the other PS pump and mount the tapped steering box. I still want to tweak the currie drag link, and I've also got a new heim joint and bushing coming for my metalcloak track bar  . The track bar has an obvious clunk that I can produce by hand.

A buddy gave me part of a PSC SK250 kit that he never installed, which included a cylinder assist. I've since picked up a PSC steering box and pump, but wasn't aware shortening the cylinder assist was recommended, so I'm following along here!

Shorten the ram and fittings about 3/4" and eliminate the jam nuts. Everything gets attached with 609 loctite.

I said I was "going to bed" 3 hours ago.
Instead I sat here and scrolled through all 67 pages of your build.
NO RAGRETS.

Awesome build brother.
My TJ is nowhere close to par with yours, but let me know if you're ever down towards the Springs and we'll wheel something together!

Thanks! It's definitely based on other builds. Keep an eye on the Colorado section of the forum, we can be a pretty active group!

The new heim joint and bushing for the trackbar arrived from who shall not be named. Placed an order for the steering ram spacers from poly performance, but no updates on those yet...I am not losing any downtime thankfully, its too dam cold to work in the garage anyway.

Unrelated to the jeep (and posted before in another thread)--but I have also been working on a switch panel for my pickup. I found a a sheet of aluminum in the dumpster at work and thought it would be perfect for the onboard air I am installing.
