What did you do to your other vehicle today?

Took the '40 Packard for it's "mothball run" !

Real Tommy guns were banned up here years ago, but so far Airsoft ones are OK ! The way things are going, I may have to turn my collector cars into EVs soon.

Sadly, we're not too far behind you down here with the current political climate. We can still get Tommy guns down here, but thanks to Reagan, of all presidents, the supply is finite, so prices are very high and climbing!

The Turdeau liberals (socialists) backed by the Singh NDP (even more socialist) have banned the sale of thousands of semiauto rifles and handguns can no longer be sold or transferred. We can keep them until we croak, then they are confiscated. Only other option is to dewat them and turn them into paperweights.

A bit of incremental progress on the trailer rehab:

Tongue back from the welding shop.

Hit with primer to keep it from rusting until I can get it - and the rest of the trailer - sand blasted.

For those who need a clue... ;)

Next up: Axle removal to get spring perches mounted on the topside for an axle "flip".

does this count

so last week I was rolling along cutting the lawn following one of those 10 day cycles where it rained on & off so it was nearly a foot tall. I wasn't 10 minutes into the job when I came in a little hot over a small stump that's nearly dirt level but I still normally go over it really slow to make sure I don't whack the deck or bounce over it so the blade digs in.... which is exactly what happened, at first I heard the blades stop so I figured I popped the belt, got down there & it was sheered almost like it was cut in half.

Because the tractor kept going I didn't think anything else was wrong (blade-wise anyway, I hit a root before where the blade dug in & the tractor stopped dead jamming me into the steering wheel, that sucked) so I just drove it back into the garage. Later that day I went out to look at the stump to see where I hit it & sure as shit I saw the telltale sign of trouble, a deep divot out of the grass next to the stump. Crawled under the tractor & as I suspected the blade was bent down 90 degrees.

Grabbed a new belt, blades, & my trusty floor jack & $80/45 minutes later she was back in action:

Edit:

Epilogue, I've been cutting my lawn since I was tall enough to cut it where I grew up, maybe 12, can't remember. I've been in my current house 25 years this year & to date I've never, once, in my life, paid someone to cut my grass anywhere I've lived. I was unable to find the belt and blades both locally at HD or Lowes so I ordered them on Amazon, they were scheduled to arrive 3 days later & given the crazy height of the grass I momentarily considered flagging down one of the 50 landscapers that's on my block seemingly daily to give it a quick cut to get me by.

Then I said fuck that with a capital F, aint no way I'm breaking my 45 year streak :ROFLMAO:

Pulled the trunk rubber off of the old MBZ - its starting to leak and has a tiny bit of rust underneath it. Need to sand said rust, and hit it with encapsulater. Then glue the new rubber in place.

Forgot to update this - the new trunk rubber was installed several days ago. Am in the middle of a whole house re-pipe right now.

Same here. I cut about an acre and a half, as well as roll it with a vintage roller made from part of a horse drawn land packer. Picture is from my files.

About to find out how good my new neighbors are (sound on)… In fairness they did ring the bell right after it happened and call the police and insurance company. Most importantly the jeep was unharmed.

You share a driveway??

I'm to used to living in the country :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

It’s like an upside down Y. Each have our own entrance up the hill but no fence on the top. Up until recently it was an elderly couple that didn’t drive so the kids got to use the extra space for scooters and stuff…might need to reconsider.

Rebuilt the fuel bowl and drain valve on the new to me 2002 F450 7.3 auto, I changed out the trans cooler for a larger one and did a flush on the trans last week. Cooling system flush with new hoses and extended life Antifreeze the week before that. It has 106,000 miles on it and was a one owner truck from Mississippi so no rust. Hopefully it makes me a good truck.
