Which floor mats would you recommend?

Rugged Ridge front and rear
Pretty thick material Vs all the weather techs Ive owned
They arent as perfectly aligned as you can note at seat base
They are definitely more heavy duty

A 3-4db decrease in sound wouldn't even be noticeable if I wrap my wife in it. 🤫

Ha! I hear that.

I know the numbers don't "sound" like much, but the decibel scale is exponential. 3db cuts the sound wave pressure approximately in half. Those layers are really effective in the frequency of speech and above and they cut the road noise significantly at highway speed. Even with the soft top. Most of the I-6 engine noises are in the 90-180Hz range and they don't do much for that.

I did a boom mat on my hard top first a few years ago. It also reduced the sound at highway speed by about 3-4db. Humans generally sense a 10db shift as half or twice as loud and that's near where I'm at. Music sounds better inside and you can even have a conversation with the passenger if you wanted to.

I'm not saying that's the solution for everyone, In the west the drives to the place you want to go can be pretty long. It makes it a nicer place to be for 5 or 6 hours at a time. If I were bringing it on a trailer, or in mud or water all the time I wouldn't recommend this.

In my newest rig I removed the mass backing from the factory LJ carpet and put it and 1/4” butyl rubber sheeting that I got for free under BedRug. Then I was about to buy some WeatherTech Floor liners for the front when I realized I could just cut some more of the 1/4” rubber sheeting and put it down as floor mats. They don’t move at all and are grippy on feet. I am so glad I did not click to buy the WeatherTech floor liners. Saved me $150. Get pics later if I remember this thread.

Thanks for the update!!!! Like I said Armorlite will be my next purchase for my Rubicon.

Did you ever get the Armorlite flooring? I am looking at it, and it looks like a great middle ground between my truck liner and a full carpet kit. I love the truck liner for how easy it is to keep clean, but it is looking dingy and has no insulation (sound or heat). Looks like the price on the Armorlite has gone up a couple hundred bucks in recent months thoug.......

Not sure if it’s just something they offer to past customers but I get emails several times per year offering 10% off their flooring

Ya, I am going to keep an eye on this and try to snag a set with a discount. Not something I have to do immediately.

That seat covers look awesome ! From where are they ?

They look like Bartact. For just a couple hundred more than the covers cost, I had a local shop do Katzkin leather on the front and back. I think the Bartact used to be the best, but the quality has gone downhill in the last couple of years and I really like how easy to clean the leather is.

If you don’t like the trough design Lloyd mats makes a heavy rubber one that fits perfect and does not move at all on my bedrug carpet. The design also hold water really well. Also as you can see they have lots of color options. They are pricey tho.

Is there a hole cutout in the cargo liner for the seatbelts? I love how these look and how they creep all the way under the backseat to the dropoff
