I’ve been to this off road park before, but lots has changed recently. Got into some trouble.

Yes, that’s a big ass ledge! Had a good time but beat the shit out of my oil pan!

I count myself fortunate I didn’t get a leak. The only positive here was I literally have an inch more clearance at the oil pan. Transmission will be fine for those who are looking at this and wondering.

Next years clearance mods can’t get here soon enough! One more pic for good measure.

It’s nice and I’d love to have one, but $350! I know it would save me if I were to bust it, but the replacement oil pan is $60!

Put a hole in the pan unknowingly and run the engine dry and it'll be worth 350

Of course I agree with you! I shouldn’t have been there. I actually did not see how big the drop was. Sometimes I hate going down...

Yeah, it can be a real downer thinking about that. On an upper note, a guy with an earlier model TJ confronted me about my lift, et. Al. He was digging the setup and inspired to start to build.

I did that exact thing on the Rubicon, cept I was on 32's and wadded up my oil pan similar to his. Got lucky. Pan is still beat up. Will be getting it Cloaked soon.

I wanted the MC one too, but that $350 Skid Row is actually better. You won’t risk damage to any attachment points on your engine block.

Been at that same spot before (however, we were going up, not coming down, in the position to go up it or go around it).

Even with my 33’s at the time, no way in hell I’d feel comfortable trying that out. Props to you sir! Wish I could have gone. I’ll be moving back to Austin soon so I’ll be much closer to Hidden Falls!

Was leaking a little oil, I think from the drain plug, due to the awful ledge, see pics in post #1^^^. The rubber washer was torn, so I replaced the plug and will see if it solves it. Leak was so slow I don’t have drips in the garage, gauge reads normal and dipstick says full.

If this doesn’t stop it, I’ll look into fixing the oil pan. Anyone ever removed the oil pan and beat out a section? I’m only concerned right where the drain plug is, it’s not 100% flat, so on one side it’s bent toward the plug, creating a small concave shape.

Other issue is if I have to replace the oil pan, I noticed that I need one with baffles. Is this correct? Does the baffling keep the engine from running dry when wheelin uphill?
