Basket's Build

Just gotta figure out how to transfer all my fuel to the new tank. I have a little hand pump but that might take a whIle.
Why not just tip it to pour the fuel out the filler neck into the other tank before you install the fuel pump?

Edit: I like Claytone's idea better. đź’ˇ

You can use the fuel pump to do the transfer. Plug it back into the Jeep and jump the relay. Run a hose from the sender nipple to the container of choice.
This is genius!
Are they cracked now?
Not that I saw... I didn't check that closely though

That would be easiest, but I thought there was some kind of check valve that prevents fuel from coming back up the filler neck

There might be. 🤔 I'd modified my stock tank and it was a long time ago.

Claytone's seems like the best idea.

Yeah, a lot better than a hand pump... or siphoning one from to the other

It works great as long as the old pump isn’t completely dead.
Just don’t kink your hose at all, and use a hose clamp for insurance. It will go from a calm low pressure, high volume situation to a fuel spraying shit-show if the hose pops off.

I think your best bet is to give me the skid and I'll do ALL the work to make it fit MY Jeep.... and you can have my skid which has been professionally tucked one WHOLE inch....
Haha. Nope mine. The Savvy one is tucked an inch too... are you calling them not professional? What skid you got?

Gas tank with Savvy GTS ready for install, and body lift mostly done, just need to get the grill supports installed. Always exciting making the Jeep taller...

It looks like I've got a little rust problem on the drivers side torque box (I think that's what that is? Middle body mount). Probably will need to deal with that eventually

Does anyone know if it matters if I install my Savvy cable shifter before or after a tummy tuck? I also need to do some reading and figure out if a MML is needed for the tuck. Haven't looked into that too far.

Also, If anyone in CO needs an OEM gas tank and/or OEM gas tank/tcase skid let me know

It doesn't matter, that's part of the benefit of the cable design vs the stock linkage.

It's not required, but it does change the angle of your drive train, which may be useful.

Awesome, one more thing I can finish before the skid shows up. UCF emailed me saying they were building it, no shipping yet though.

Sweet I will probably just see how it feels without it and go from there. Gotta get everything finished before 4/2 so I can see how far I can get before I need to turn around lol

I have a real bad spot on my passenger side too I've been meaning to fix. I'd like to swap sliders before I do though

Looks like replacement panels aren't too expensive, the work is probably really involved though huh

Also what sliders have you got are those the Warn ones? Are they gonna be for sale đź‘€

Poison spider which use the body mounts. You don't want a slider that mounts that way, find one that mounts using the tub and is wheel well to wheel well.

Not sure when these are coming off just yet
