I get that but I think what I'm feeling right now is more of a margin issue than a ROI thing. Too house poor, too many payments to have as much freedom as I want.
I WFH in the middle of nowhere so I rarely do any of these. I'm pretty frugal and on a budget but still want to be able to invest more, worry less

How the helly do I read this and find out what wire to test for 12v on the fuel pump harness when I turn the key to ON position?

The ground for the Fuel Pump motor is BK(highlighted in red), the Fuel level sensor to PCM is DB/LG(highlighted in Blue), and the sensor ground is BR/YL(highlighted in green).Hmmm. Does that mean the Dark Blue / Light Green is the ground?
My notes say there was a black with white trace... I'll have to go back and see if that's actually a dark green. Being colorblind makes wiring so hard

How do you know the black wire (highlighted red) is ground? It looks like everything else is labelled
How I know it's ground is the pump can't ground to the tank and it's the only wire left, plus G105 indicates a ring terminal type ground.
Just for a little more specificity, symbol next to G105 indicates it's probably spliced with other wires...Ahh the icon! Thank you for explaining this. Way different from the MR2 EWDs. Which are very literal and simple
I actually had to look that little symbol up...
Here's a full breakdown of that part of the circuit.
1. The Wire Specifications (Top)
- Z1: The Chrysler/Jeep code for a Ground Circuit. Any wire starting with "Z" carries ground, not power.
- 18: The wire size (18-Gauge wire).
- BK: The wire color (Black).
2. Splice 132
- The Black Dot (•): A physical Splice where multiple wires are crimped or soldered together inside the main wiring harness bundle.
- S132: The unique identification number for this specific splice (Splice #132).
- (8W-15-6): The map coordinates in the manual. It tells you that Splice 132 is fully detailed in Section 8W, sub-section 15, page 6 of the Factory Service Manual.
3. The Connecting Wire (Middle)
- Z1: Still part of the same Ground Circuit.
- 14: The wire size jumps to 14-Gauge wire. Notice that the wire got thicker (14-gauge is thicker than 18-gauge) because it is now carrying the combined electrical load of all the wires that joined together at Splice 132.
- BK: The color remains Black.
4. Ground 105 (Bottom)

- The Dot Over a Solid Line (⚬__): This is the official Chrysler/Jeep symbol for a Chassis Ground Stud. The horizontal line represents the metal sheet metal or engine block, and the dot represents the round metal eyelet (ring terminal) bolted to it.
- G105: The unique identification number for this physical grounding bolt (Ground #105).
- (8W-15-6): Confirms that this physical ground point is located on the very same page as the splice (Section 8W-15, page 6).
