Wrangler TJ Gas Overflow Fix

Did mine yesterday, piece of cake. These instructions were spot on. Cut the hose on the bandsaw, perfect fit.
Good deal, it is pretty easy. Did it take care of the problem? I ended up jamming the plunger down due to crazy slow filling and am still looking good, so far...

It works as advertised, set the pump and it fills as fast as you want and it shuts itself off with NO splashback.

So I have it all open, but I seem to open the hose off. :-/ Any tips quickly? (The clamps are completely loose — I can see they're lifted off the hose.)

If the clamps are loose you may need to take a small screwdriver and pry around the edges of the hose to get it to budge. That always works for hoses that are stuck.

Yea, you will have to work at it. The hose shrinks and stiffens over time. A small screwdriver like Chris said or anything you can get in there to loosen it up. Remove the cap, screws to hose, and screws to remove the plastic whatever you call that thing :D, and you can twist the entire tube to help loosen it. I left the hose attached to the top while pulling and twisting "gently" to pull it off the bottom. Worse comes to worse, you can use a sharp blade to make a slit in the hose to loosen it.

I found and tried a little pick tool, which loosened it except for one side. I finally just cut it LOL

Now which way does this new hose go on? The notch should be on the upper side, right?

And why can't I just cut the small end?

Once it is on, you will see which way to place it. You want it to follow the bend like the factory hose, although it has less curvature.

As far as cutting, I followed the instructions exactly and it fit perfectly. I wouldn't veer from them since it is proven but, that is up to you.
