Should I buy OME or other brand coil springs

OP seems to have a fixation on JKS 3" springs. Is that because most of OP's existing parts are JKS?

There are better spring choices. @jjvw, @tworley and @bobthetj03 are all offering good advice regarding OME and Currie springs.

I do not have a fixation on any particular springs. I have a set of OME shocks that I must work with and I like the idea of getting 3" of lift from the JKS springs. I also think the dual rate is interesting. I think 3" is the sweet spot without as many issues with driveline angles (I could be wrong LOL). I listed the parts that I have to work with in the initial post.

If you are looking for 2 inch springs I have the Procomp 2 inch springs which I run those with a 1 inch spacer up front and half inch in back, a 1.25 inch body lift, mml and 33s and it looks and performs great without needing a SYE/DC driveshaft.

looks like they are $260 total now so not sure if they are cheaper than ome

It’s possible that 3 inches will be ok for driveline but not a guarantee. The MML should take care of most of the vibes but worst case you put a few washers under the Tcase. I have no vibes with my setup but every TJs threshold is a little different so I would say 3 inches is more like the max you might get away with without a huge tcase drop.

3" is pushing the limits of the stock rear driveline. That is one reason I think 3" is generally a less than optimal place to stay. If you do an SYE, the door is open to a 4" where there is more room to work with.

The OME shocks should be fine with the JKS 3” springs.

...

The OME shocks for ~2" lift will end up with between 2-3" of down travel after a 3" spring lift. Stock is about 4" down.

I have a Rubicon so a SYE is not needed.
A 4" spring would definitely require me to purchase different shocks. As stated I just purchased a new set of OME shocks. Trying to get the most out of the shock I purchased. LOL

So do I. Your rear drive shaft still won't be happy at 3" of spring lift without a double cardan rear and adjustable rear arms.

Once you fix the pinion, your rear shocks will be even more stretched out making them even less appropriate for a 3" lift.

Every TJ is different, but I think @jjvw is correct that your drive lines will be pretty out of whack. If you had an LJ it would be more likely to work with that extra wheelbase.

I’d expect you are going to hit an issue with the rear driveshaft. Getting that angle right is pretty important to not breaking stuff and/or getting vibes. You’d probably need adjustable CAs (upper) and a DC driveshaft in very short order. And IMO dropping the TC with washers should be a non starter unless it’s very short term.

if you want to make your current setup work and only buy springs then go with either OME or Procomp 2 inch springs.

I think I'm going to take some good advise and stay with the 2" lift. Probably just buy the OME 2.5" springs that come with the DPG ultimate kit originally.

You won't be disappointed - I can do way more than I expected on the ~2" OME + 1.25" BL (+33s and TT).

Stick with the OME coils. The heavy (iirc) are a 2" spring and the soft are a 2 1/2" spring. After adding some weight in bumpers, winch, etc. they will settle out pretty much the same height. But to get the most out of your shocks I would put them up on Ebay and get some Rancho 5000x instead. I had the OME shocks on with the OME springs. Swapped to the Ranchos and got a big improvement in ride quality.

Now I just have to decide which Old Man Emu springs to buy???

I have an 06 Rubicon with hard top, steel aftermarket front and rear bumpers. I will be carrying a 33" tire on the rear and in the near future I would like to install a winch.

Any suggestions on which OME front and rear springs I should buy??? Spacers???

Call Dirk @ DPG ,Ask him about springs..He will help you decide which ones will work the best for you.

I called him about a few things and he seems like a very knowledgeable great guy. I feel bad though because I can't afford to buy from him because his shipping is really high.

Sounds exactly like mine. 06 Rubi, hardtop, steel bumpers and an 8,000 lb winch with synthetic rope. Again, I have the light springs and going from just the Jeep with no top and factory bumpers to all the above settled the springs down 1/2 to 3/4 inch. And with the Rancho 5000x shocks it rides good, great actually. The only difference is I'm running 32" tires. I don't know if the heavy springs would sit any higher because the light springs are 2 1/2" lift and the heavy springs are 2" lift. So in my opinion get the softer set so when the top comes off in the summer the springs will still flex a bit easier.
