So,
As many on here know I have been working on a Kubota Turbo Diesel swap on my 2006 right had drive TJ Wrangler, which is still not running, and like always I'm surfing Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist for Jeeps because I'm a Jeepaholic . . .
SO I found an ad that seems too good to be true. 2005 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon with 142K all original with the NSG370 6-speed manual a little over 2 hours from my house. Here's the kicker on this Wrangler LJR the price? $6000. Here is the proof, Facebook won't let me open the entire ad anymore but here is the screenshot:
Once I got there I confirmed it had Dana 44s in the front and rear, the locker switch underneath the radio, the NP241 transfer case and the VIN code for the Rubicon since it's missing the sticker! Turns out the radiator has a bad leak and the muffler is rusted away and it needs a new top but everything else works and really straight. Well 4 days of messaging the seller and now this is in my driveway:
I have never ridden in a LJ Wrangler Unlimited before, and the ride quality vs my TJ is night and day different. I honestly never thought an extra 10 inches of wheelbase could make that much difference. The biggest problem is I want to start swapping a diesel into this LJR and I haven't even finished my other swap yet.
Also I don't think my wife is going to let me get another vehicle for the next few years now as well . . . which I mean kind of makes sense. I have my 2006 Liberty CRD Turbo Diesel, my 2006 Right Hand Drive TJ Wrangler, my 1947 CJ-2A, a 1970 DJ-5A Postal Jeep and now this 2005 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Living on 5 acres of land is dangerous for a Jeepaholic like myself.
Let me know what you think!
