I wonder if I have enough room left for an Atlas 4-speed. That plus the doubler would give me so many options! I really double it though, My rear driveshaft is only like 14.25" inches right now.
Mine is 18.5. How long is your Tcase setup currently? The 4 speed is 17" and the 2 speed is 13.8"

I have a NP231 with a Super Short SYE which appears to be shorter than the Atlas 2-speed so I guess that is out . . . until I cut my frame and tube in half and make my Wrangler a TJ-8 :devilish:

IMHO there isn't any reason for the 4 speed Atlas since you already have the doubler. The front box on the 4 speed is just that. If you were to get an Atlas I'd just get a 2 speed in 5.1 and be done with it.

But but I don't have a manual transmission so according to the internet I'm a stupid millennial and ALSO that means at ANY MOMENT my automatic is going to be stolen, since again I don't have a manual transmission anti-theft device so I need to have as many gears and shifters in my TJ so that I can ward off thieves!

I’d suggest wheeling it as is before getting an Atlas. You have plenty of reduction somewhere over 7:1.

Depends. Savvy 3” springs and possibly no body lift if I can find a Nth tummy tucker (which doesn’t require a body lift), or I may do a UCF with a Lo Pro mount to avoid a body lift. Then I could stay with 265s and not have it look wonky. If I do a body lift and end up at 4”, I’ll definitely need 285s.
265’s, lo pro tummy tuck, 2.5 inch springs, and a .5 inch body lift.

This would be my first manual equipped TJ, all the others were autos. If I was going to be doing some of the technical rock crawling that others are doing, I could see where the auto would be highly advantageous. In my case though, I won't be doing that, so I think this manual will work nicely for me. I'm used to only driving sports cars in manuals (won't own anything but a manual for sports cars), but it's actually quite fun driving the TJ in a manual.

I still think someone should buy that rig. It's a hell of a good deal with a ton of spare parts. But like I said, they are all obsolete, can't easily be replaced, and I'd be really afraid of damaging that highline kit or something along those lines.

Plus, for what I want to do with the TJ, I simply don't need 35s, period. I think I still have an intention at some point to put together a rock crawler buggy. We'll see of course!
Chris, I love my manual. Especially on long road trips, hidden fire roads, high mountain passes, cross country desert cruising, it’s just fun to drive. I think you’re really going to enjoy it. Hell I don’t do a ton of rock crawling but the little I have done has been pretty interesting with the standard to say the least.

I need to go measure my STaK's box but I am sure it is longer than a 2 speed Atlas. I knew the V-8 pushed my drivetrain forward some but I didn't know how much.

Right now my rear driveshaft is 21 3/8" and with the 5" rear stretch I'm going to be 26 3/8". That isn't too bad for a SWB TJ is it.... :)

With 33’s, 241OR, 5.13 gears with that trans, it puts you at 91.52 crawl ratio and 3000 rpm at 68 mph, whereas stock 4.10’s and an Atlas 5.0 is 91.43 crawl ratio, 85 mph, and all the benefit of twin sticks. This is where I would max my drive train build with a Rubicon model.

Just got done installing and then removing those headlights.

They look nice in the photos (like JL headlights), but once I installed them on the Jeep it took me all of 10 seconds to say, "Nope, these are coming off.".

They look total rice-a-roni, as in ricer style. The only LED headlights I've ever found that look factory and not ricer are the ones I had on my old TJ:

Of course they're also insanely expensive (albeit very bright).

Maybe I need some of those, otherwise I'll just stick with some Cibies.

I’m not seeing how they remotely resembled the JL headlights lol. JL lights look good...not those haha

Glad I'm not the only one who was sorely disappointed. I liked them because they looked JL'esque. Of course once I got them on, they looked like they'd be more at home on a pimp-mobile.

Oh well!
I’m sure you looked at them but I love the KC gravity headlights. Super clean look
