I saw an old army Jeep that had a giant hole in the block from a rod coming through it. They gathered the pieces and puzzled the block back together with JB weld. It was running when I saw it and it was not a fresh repair by any means...
JB weld got me to Moab when my radiator decided to crack on the way there.
So... I’ll ask for y’alls option ( I have not consulted my wife so this is just completely useless)
I was going to camp down that way but for some reason the hippies in the NF have all the camp sites closed. Is there any dispersed camping close by ? Or are there so many ppl down there that there is none ? Up here I know 25 different places I could go with out seeing any one including Pine Cone Cops.
I might just grab a cheap hotel in Angels Camp on Friday if camping is out.

There is tons of places to camp but I am not sure if any of the fire roads are open. You could probably camp on our property at the cabin, but I am not sure you want to go another 40 minutes the wrong way.
Maybe @Plumber1 knows of some spots down lower?

Kids want to camp as well. So I'm going to look for one as well.
There are tent sites at Angels Camp RV campground, cabins too but don’t know the price.

Thanks for that link! I might tow the Jeep with my RV. Let's see what the kids want to do.
That would be a lot better than packing the TJ full, of course you fit an awful lot of gear in your Jeep on the Con.
Came back from SG trail and few hours later my wife stared screaming. Turns out we had a guest going through our trash, took this picture from our deck at the cabin
i would call and check because I believe that hotels, RV sites and short term rentals are still closed.
It’s definitely worth a call first. I’ll be driving it the day of, it’s only 80 miles.
You might try the Lube Room is right nearby and they have good burgers and such, oh the Onion Rings are the best
