Hey guys,

Our original pcm video from Ozstar hit the Internet April 30th of last year. Here is a follow-up video with the owner and his story that most of us can relate to!

Thank you for all of your support and testimonials over the past 14 months! It has been my pleasure to help each one of you!

Mark

Hi Mark - I have a 2005 LJ with a manual tranny and for the past 7 years, during the summer months only, my CEL is on with four codes, 032, 038, 052 and 058. I've tried everything and the guy at the emissions test center said it was the PCM.

Does this sound like a PCM issue? If yes, I would like to clear this up, but could you let me know if you think your fix will work, and if there is any discount code that would b much appreciated as the price is $1,200 on your site.

Thanks,
Mike

I can’t tell you 100% he can fix it, but these are the same codes and why I ordered mine last week. Hopefully next week when it will get here I can report back with 100% confidence!

I'll just say, I've an '05 TJ 6-spd as well. Same codes 032/038/052/058. They would come on and off whenever they damn well felt like. I kind of skipped all the other repairs and the people at the Chrysler dealership told me PCM.

Replaced mine with a Wranglerfix PCM some 1000+ miles ago I think. Still without the cursed CEL !

Awesome...I hate these damn codes, so frustrating.

I am up for one, are you able to PM me a quote? Or what is the best way to get an order going for a 2005 LJ with 6-speed? Do you require our old PCM to be shipped back? Thanks!

I am anxiously awaiting the shipment of mine (only ordered a week ago), Mark called me today and chatted for a bit about my order - so far he is great to work with, can't wait to get my rig back out on the trails.
Just ordered mine 10 minutes ago. Its like being a kid again waiting for Christmas, LOL. I asked on the WranglerFix website chat about a Forum Discount since I saw a bunch of folks on here mention it. Mark siad they didnt offer it at this time but did give me expedited shipping which was perfect. I'll keep everyone posted over the near future.

Hey guys,
I’ve got a new one for you. My 04 LJ will suddenly give me a CEL and go into limp mode ( 2nd gear only, no OD light, etc.) I stop and do the key routine and got the generic PO700. Start it up drive away normally (no limp) CEL still on, got to my Jeep mechanic to read any codes. Shut off engine to connect reader and the CEL is gone and no codes are stored. This is the second time its happened.

Does the issue happen when it’s excessively hot outside? Have you checked wiring and plug going to the tcm?

The 0700 code is a generic code for something wrong on the transmission side. There should be another code when you scan the transmission through the OBD port.
I would buy an inexpensive scanner and see if it happens again.

As a matter of fact yes it has been in triple digits here in L.A.. As far as wiring, no I have not yet checked. The TCM is a separate unit on 04’s once it cools down a little I’ll try to chase the loom between the ECM / TCM and transmission. As far as codes, they disappear..... My mechanic has a snap on (expensive) reader and went into the transmission readings and nothing is stored. Kind of a head scratcher... Isn’t there a relay I should check too?

Mark/Wranglerfix,

im getting codes P0135, 141, 151 and 161. Its a 2005 LJ with 6 speed and non Sentry key. I've replaced the mini cats twice and the O2 sensors twice over the last 7 years, bought the Jeep new. The check engine light comes and goes depending on the humidity. The circuits have been checked but I'm lost. Do you think your PCM might solve my issue? Other than the light, Jeep runs great.

Thanks

Update since last post I went to my local transmission guy and he detected a p1176 solenoid issue. He’s gong to do a full diagnostic of wiring and TCM first but said a solenoid replacement would run about $700-$800.00 job. Sounds hefty to me for just dropping the valve body and replacing the solenoid. Thoughts? Anyone?

Your post made me think of this one. The first and last post are most important. Everything in between is a bunch of whining.

Got my new PCM from Wranglerfix yesterday, Total of 7 days from ordering to delivery. Very well packed for shipping, in fact it took longer to unwrap than it did to install.
Hooked the battery back up, fired up the Jeep, CEL stayed off, and went for a short drive. 3.8 miles later, CEL popped back on, and back into Limp Mode for the trip home. Key code check gave the 0700 like before. Now its putting out PO 0846.
Before installation of PCM, visually checked all wires from PCM to the sensors, all appeared in good shape.
Picked up a input sensor for the tranny, had to special order the output.
Little back history on this vehicle, I bought this Jeep for my daughter in 2014, in 2016 the same issues occurred to her. She lived out of state and ended up taking it to a Chrysler car dealership. 5 weeks, $1876 later, she gets her Jeep back and happily drives it without issue, up until September 2019, when it started doing what its doing now for the 2nd time since I bought it for her.
She buys a new car, doesnt want to deal with the Jeep so I take it back. Trailer it to my place and started researching. Found an article one one of the forums about erasing the adaptive memory (not just clearing the codes) and voila, runs like a champ and I get another 9,000 miles out of it before it stated Limping again 2 weeks ago.
Found this Forum, saw all the positive comments and results about Wranglerfix, and ordered a PCM, which brings us up to yesterday.
After quitting working on the Jeep yesterday, I'm going thru the glovebox and I find receipts etc etc, that my kid had put there over the years.
One of the pieces of paper is a diagnostic readout, stapled to the receipt from 2016 when she had the PCM replaced at the dealership, which showed a code of PO 0846. Nothing on the work order showed that PO 0846 was even addressed, so Im thinking past and present problems in part, are pointing toward sensors. Had a friend with a scan tool come over and yep, PO 0846 is popping up.
Updates to follow, next week when my sensors get shipped and installed.

My PCM finally shipped this week (ordered 7/21) - I can hardly wait until tomorrow to test it. I do have to say I was a little disappointed in the experience just from the shipping side. I paid for 2 day and after talking to Mark 3 times over the order he promised overnighting it on at least 2 occasions. As long as it works I will suck it up, but I do typically like to see things I am told (or at a minimum what I paid for) to be upheld. It shipped Monday and arrives Friday. cc @Wranglerfix

Really my only constraint is others mostly pending a trip plan on me confirming the Jeep is fixed, otherwise the timing wouldn't matter quite as much.
