Got my new PCM from Wranglerfix yesterday, Total of 7 days from ordering to delivery. Very well packed for shipping, in fact it took longer to unwrap than it did to install.
Hooked the battery back up, fired up the Jeep, CEL stayed off, and went for a short drive. 3.8 miles later, CEL popped back on, and back into Limp Mode for the trip home. Key code check gave the 0700 like before. Now its putting out PO 0846.
Before installation of PCM, visually checked all wires from PCM to the sensors, all appeared in good shape.
Picked up a input sensor for the tranny, had to special order the output.
Little back history on this vehicle, I bought this Jeep for my daughter in 2014, in 2016 the same issues occurred to her. She lived out of state and ended up taking it to a Chrysler car dealership. 5 weeks, $1876 later, she gets her Jeep back and happily drives it without issue, up until September 2019, when it started doing what its doing now for the 2nd time since I bought it for her.
She buys a new car, doesnt want to deal with the Jeep so I take it back. Trailer it to my place and started researching. Found an article one one of the forums about erasing the adaptive memory (not just clearing the codes) and voila, runs like a champ and I get another 9,000 miles out of it before it stated Limping again 2 weeks ago.
Found this Forum, saw all the positive comments and results about Wranglerfix, and ordered a PCM, which brings us up to yesterday.
After quitting working on the Jeep yesterday, I'm going thru the glovebox and I find receipts etc etc, that my kid had put there over the years.
One of the pieces of paper is a diagnostic readout, stapled to the receipt from 2016 when she had the PCM replaced at the dealership, which showed a code of PO 0846. Nothing on the work order showed that PO 0846 was even addressed, so Im thinking past and present problems in part, are pointing toward sensors. Had a friend with a scan tool come over and yep, PO 0846 is popping up.
Updates to follow, next week when my sensors get shipped and installed.
