In TJ's its almost seems like a good practice to do it with anything over 2-ish inches.Either way I would still think changing the skid height would change pinion angle enough to need sye. But then again wasn’t blessed to have an LJ so don’t know for sure

Here's my experience with my LJ, which is similiar to your questions.I’m at a crossroads with my LJ. It’s my first LJ to mod. BTDT w/a TJ or two
2004, 2” BB, otherwise stock.
I’ve read 4-4.5” of total lift is where vibes start. And the UCF no-BL skid will not be an issue. Great! But it’s expensive to gain 1.5” and the same skid cost as the UCF extra clearance skid at 2.5” of clearance. Or even the Teraflex (2.25”) I’ve used before for less $$$.
The goal is to do as little as possible! No BL, no SYE, adj arms if I have to. But maximize clearance.
Both TF and UCF will require an extra skid to protect the tranny pan. So thats a wash.
LJ owners Experiences?
Exactly what happened to me with ome 2.5 , 1.25 bl , 1” mmlHere's my experience with my LJ, which is similiar to your questions.
I had a 2.5" suspension lift with a UCF NBL (1.5") skid (4" net lift at xfr case), stock control arms, stock driveshafts, no sye on 32's.
Results: I had no vibes, no clearance issues.
I went to 3.5" springs with the UCF NBL skid, (5" net lift at xfr case) and a 1.25" BL on 35's.
With this, I had vibes at acceleration.
I added adjustable control arms, an SYE, and a DC rear driveshaft. I adjusted the front and rear pinion angles.
Results: All vibes gone, no other issues.
I switched to Currie 4" springs with UCF NBL skid (5.5" net lift at xfr case) No other changes.
Results: No additional vibes, no other issues.
Recently, I added the UCF Extra Clearance (2.5") skid. So now 6.5" net lift at xfr case.
Results: No additional vibes, no new pinion angle adjustments. Still on stock front D/S.
However...I had to do some clearancing at the rear cat and muffler around the heat shield. The tailpipe also made contact with the rear track bar and shock. I removed the tailpipe and am running a turndown at the muffler (for now).
So, in my case, the vibes started after 4" of lift at the xfr case. If you stayed at a 2" lift and added the NBL skid, You would PROBABLY be good. If you went with the Extra Clearance skid you would be much more likely to get vibes and need exhaust work.
Of course this is my experience only, and all measurements approximate. Others may have had different outcomes.

Did you look at the Advanced Adapter SSYE?That's good to know that a DC driveshaft is good for at least a 1" suspension change. I was recently searching the inter webs for this, til I thought, well, let me look at the tummy tuck FAQ. I have the ultra C. UCF skid sitting in the garage and just ordered some Savvy CA. Next is the short SYE and shaft. Has anyone called JB conversions to see if their short SYE is available recently? Shows out of stock on their website. I was going to call them this week to check. If not, I'll go with the teraflex short.

Go aluminum don’t overthink it. Can’t speak on UCF stuff personally, I went Savvy.So I'm in the market for the TT on the LJ. How much does the extra weight between aluminum and steel matter? I think the TC skid weights about 30 lbs more in steel but then again the current one is steel too. I'm thinking of going Aluminum more for the corrosion resistance than the weight difference. Since by definition these parts will get scratched up.
I was thinking of the 3/8" aluminum UCF ultra high clearance deep cover skid system for engine/transmission/TT skid. It's ~$250 more but around 50-60 lbs lighter than the same thing in 1/4" steel. I think my ~3.25 inch from my 2.5" OME heavy spring lift shouldn't run into issues. I'll get adjustable control arms to modify angles and I have a body lift, 1" MML, and savvy shifter cable.

Post 287 is from an LJ owner addressing LJs specifically.I might. It help having the LJ. I may also have a line on a 241OR a guy took out because he wanted an Atlas. If that's going in I'll wait to figure it out all at once.
