The Official Tummy Tuck FAQ Thread

So I took advantage of the current 30% discount with teraflex and ordered a belly up plate and compressor relocation bracket.

Now this evening I saw on the instructions:

NOTE: It will be necessary to cut the transmission mount bracket
that holds the exhaust. Cut approximately 3/4” to 1” out of
the middle and weld the bracket back together before re-install-
ing. Failure to do so may result in binding in the exhaust or
the exhaust may touch the body.

Is this actually a concern if I already have a 1.25" body lift?

Also, almost certain my existing shovel doesn't have anything beyond the narrow bolt slots, and not a bracket above the plate that would be transfered over to the teraflex.

Was hoping this would be more straightforward

No need to weld the exhaust hanger. As @OldBuzzard shows in the link he posted you can just make a cut between the two holes and bolt it back together about an inch lower. He did it with three bolts but I used only one 9/16 x 1" bolt with a lock nut and red loctite. It's solid and doesn't move around because of the way the plates are shaped they lock themselves together. I did have to slot out one of the holes with a file to get the proper height.

I haven't even looked under to see what chop and weld piece they were referring to. Thanks for the pics.

Can't help you there.

I extended the wiring using butt connectors and mounted the pumps on the ABS tray using a length of flat aluminum and some coupling nuts as standoffs.

Spoke with Teraflex, and they told me in so many words that the adapter plate attaches to the tummytuck. My google-fu is failing me as I cannot find a graphic of any sort about how it should all end up put together. Really wish I had a car lift.

Well, the tummy tuck (tereflex) is on. Did NOT have to chop the exhaust hanger, plenty of room above and below it. Were it a more extreme belly tuck it likely would, but the 1" BL worked out well with the Tereflex skid. Awaiting a delivery from metalcloak for the UCA replacements (I got the single adjusts close but there is still a tremor when accelerating that I want to fine tune.)

Also noticed rubbing on the gas tank shroud with the adjusted pinion, so rear trackbar bracket and bar getting swapped on this weekend. Will also spend the next decade tracking down all of the new noises introduced by the work.
