No my only question, from the beginning, has been what do these do that is wrong.
The brackets don't do anything that is inherently wrong, as best as I can tell. What is wrong are many of the claims surrounding them leading to false expectations and poor understandings of how things work. The financial cost is low, but the effort to install these things is not low. You've seen the lengths I've gone to on mine for little improvements. I'm not afraid to put myself through a miserable hell to get some small incremental gain that I might not even realistically benefit from. Nor do I glorify these things as being something they aren't. That's where I am on mine. Knowing what I know (about shocks in particular) and in a world where I start over, these brackets are not for me because the payoff for the effort is not there.

It was because the examples given were mixed between TJs and LJs.

The answer you are looking for is that for a similar amount of work (and more money obviously) I can get the Savvy stuff in there. And because I'm a believer in the power of shocks, I would be doing that anyway. So whatever improvement the geo kit gives from the higher roll center becomes a moot point for me.
If this was your comment many pages ago I think many could see why you may not be in favor of them. The roll center would be a plus, but the AS would be a bigger plus. Let folks decide what products to use. We have 600 plus comments before you stated that for a bit more work there is a better option. A lot more money too.
There always has to be a line and only the Jeeps owner can say where that is. After all an atlas 4speed is only a bit more work and money than a SYE. An LS swap is is only a bit more work and money than a rebuilt stock motor.

Alright I just went out and did my best possible job at inputting my geo correction numbers into the Triaged calculator. The other calculator wasn’t meant for this kind of setup. I’m not going to be able to calculate a stock setup because there are too many variables in this calculator. I used the top of my bell housing for CoG.
Here it is as it sits. 117% AS. The lower the weight of the Jeep, the less AS it has. I have no idea how much mine weighs but I would say 4K is a decent average. The lower the CG I input the higher the AS goes. That’s another factor to think about.

Here is what the AS would be with 5/8” lower holes in the upper towers. 104%. When I did a 3rd hole down it went to 84%.

This calculator only tells me roughly what happens when I change things. We know it hops, so the numbers don’t mean shit until I run it and it doesn’t hop. I’ll be a guinea pig for yall and do some testing with video and post it up. I’ve got a good local climb in mind.

I drive my LJ at 80mph over 1000 miles each way to get to the trails on a 2 week vacation. If Daves geometry brackets make my LJ more stable on the highway and also improve or maintain performance offroad, then I am very interested. My knowledge of suspension design is limited. But I do understand roll center and I am gaining a better understanding of antisquate in this thread. I also understand how a long arm suspension can have a "skateboard' effect on steering. So I understand their is a limit to the benefits of longer arms.

With that said, as I consider my options for improving my LJ, I can see how the geo brackets will improve my Jeeps performance at interstate speed and daily driving. I can even see how the higher roll center will improve off camber performance. But can someone help me with with the things I don't understand?

1) How do the geo brackets cause my LJ to underperfrom offroad? I only see benefits.

2) In a similar question, how does a mid-arm kit make my LJ more stable at 80mph and improve daily driving performance?

It will probably continue to hop until you can get it to not unload so quickly when the axle loads up and breaks traction. SHOCKS!!!

I agree that shock rebound will make a difference in the overall result but I should still be able to make relative differences by changing the geometry

are we gonna be seeing a new BFH series in the future?
I sincerely hope not, at least not one that will be this. I want to have fun on it for a few seasons before making that drastic of a change. I'd bet either a V8 or R2.8 would be under the hood before anything else big like that.

lots of info in there and fun to interpret even give some info on pinion angles and rear steer IIRC.
i used it a lot to learn to figure pinion control or movement through my cycle, or at least an idea of it.

Only to a point. These hops are slower speed movements. If one were to try and tune out the hops, the rest of the ride would be awful.
