Man that sucks Jeremy! All that time and money to not have a good tuned shock for your jeep is really frustrating! I'm stuck with the Ranchos for now as well, and might consider the BM's down the road if we get some more feedback on them.

It’s ok. We learned something. The info was in some heads and possibly out there in some posts, and it does all come down to the butt-ometer. If Savvy won’t take them back, I’m sure someone will snap them up.

Has anyone tried the RS9000X shocks on a TJ? I've had them on my truck before and ran them on my Samurai but that was 20+ years ago.

I ran those for a while before the coilovers. I liked them - descent ride for me and the adjustability helped, especially on my heavy rig. I ran Bilstein 5200's prior to the that, and they were too soft for me.

Going back to Rancho’s
Give the Black Max a try, if the lengths work out. I like mine, so far. They ride pretty well around town, fast or slow. I haven't had a chance to get them on dirt or gravel roads yet, but our pavement is pretty riddled with yugo swallowing potholes (freeze and thaw, freeze and thaw).

I just sold a in cab adjuster setup that Rancho doesn't make anymore. Was going to install it in my last truck but never got around to it.
Sure beats crawling under the rig to adjust the shocks.

Damn dude, that sucks. I was really interested to hear your review and honest opinion. Sounds like I'll keep my Rancho's for awhile too.
Hell, they probably won’t take them back. I’ll send them to you if you want to give them a shot. I’m about to upload a video to YouTube and post here of me driving down a road.

Mind you. Everything is torqued to spec, axles centered, pinions and driveshafts adjusted, everything is dialed in. I’ve tried to want these. They do handle well on smooth main artery roads and highways.

Video of Fox TJF4/R4 in action. Just listen to the jarring. Disregard wind noise. In the name of, you guessed it, “science.”

What are you trying to show in the video? There's too many variables at play (road, shocks, camera "mount" - aka your unsteady arm ) to really tell anything.

My rear TB was not the proper length after the lift. I had adjusted it, but checked it later and it was incorrect. I literally hate doing this part. It is such a PITA. I wish I knew an easier way, and I’m totally open to suggestions.

A partner rocking the Jeep back and forth does it for me
I had my wife doing that for awhile. Never could get it! Still needed about 5mm. She left me and I figured it out. 😬 At least it’s dead on now. It’s amazing how hard that can be. 🙄

Its MUCH easier to pull the bolt on one of the upper control arms when you start centering the axle. At least, that worked for me.

For me, it’s much easier to run the ratchet strap to the opposite frame rail underneath the Jeep.

I did that first. Then had the wife rock the Jeep while I ratcheted it as tight as possible. Still needed a bit more. 🤷

I thought about that. I’m doing that next time. Good idea! 😅

For comparative analysis, have you driven the stock Rubi thru that same stretch of road?
It has KYB shocks. I think the twins Sport has stock shocks. I could run them both through. I'll get to it next week. Little camping trip the next few days!
