    2003 TJ Wrangler

Whilst willing to make it work I was asking a lot from the TJ, and towing a trailer almost every time I drove started to get tiring. The 4.5L TD V8 is surprisingly more fuel efficiant than the TJ towing a trailer too.

    2003 TJ Wrangler

It's been a while since I popped my head in here. As much as I loved it unfortunately the TJ just wasn't cutting the cheese, so we parted ways. The new workhorse:

    Back seat delete?

One thing I miss about Suzuki Sierra (Samurais) was the split rear seat. I'd love the jeep to have a split rear and have the option to take out one seat.

    Another MPG thread

In short TJs are very fuel heavy, but we don't drive them for fuel efficiency.

    2005 Project TJ

Interesting, I really hope that's the case. My understanding was if the seller wasn't collecting GST, the government would pursue it where possible. I've got lucky in the past and had a couple of $2k+ purchased come through and not get flagged.

    2005 Project TJ

Actually, as of the 1st of July GST is applicable on all overseas purchases (new products).

Does your TJ have a name?

Jeeps have a bad reputation here in Aus, mostly JK on wards. (A fair few caught fire) I like to troll, so I named mine Heep (heap).

James & The Sahara Build Thread

I've missed James almost daily updates. Going on his last post he had a lot going on, but strange to see he hasn't been online in so long. Hope everything is ok @JamesAndTheSahara

How to verify if a TJ is a Rubicon

Personally, I'd walk away from this one. He lied and tried to tell you it was a Rubicon, someone like that could be hiding other things.

How to remove dog hair from carpet?

The previous owner of my Jeep had huskies and the carpet and back seat was thick of hair. Our Dyson did a great job of removing the hair but it took several hours. The smell of the carpet was my biggest concern on wet days (wet dog smell). In the end I just removed all the carpet and binned it.

    Pulled the trigger...

Looks like a GPS cradle. You'll have to follow the wires, but one could be power and one an external aerial.

Post pictures of your white TJ

Same as me bru. I wanted a silver or dark green. Looked for months and months. The red was on the market but out in whoop whoop. I wasn't interested. The price kept dropping because of it's location, then eventually it was half the price of anything else on the market. I was always thinking...

Left & Right Wheel Offset Difference

Easy way to rule out wheels is to swap them left to right.

    Is it just me?

I did an oil change on the jeep a few weeks ago. -Caught all the oil in the drain pan. Winning! -Removed filter and caught all that too. Winning! -Got the new oil in without spilling a drop. Winning! -Go out to the garage the next day and find out I knocked over the old oil filter and it's...

    Your evolution as a mechanic

Most of my interest was in bicycles and dirtbikes as a kid. I started work in my first bicycle shop at the age of 15. I rebuilt my first engine at the age of 16. My dad is an engineer and he did his apprenticeship with Formula Ford. He taught me a lot through my mid teens to mid twenty's...

Kia Sorrento attempts Hell's Gate in Moab

LOL I didn't say it would be easy. But, an off the shelf suburban car made it up, without low range. Watched it a few times, and it still doesn't look difficult. I hope that's not the most difficult part of that trail :risas3:
