I fought that wiring harness bridge for an hour when I did mine.

It was frustrating, that's for sure. It would have been a cake job if it wasn't for that plastic harness.

No kidding! What is the hard plastic harness for anyway? Is it basically some sort of heat shield?

I believe it is a heat shield. And to my knowledge, I also believe that on the earlier 97-02 models, it isn't there.

All I know is it's a pain in the butt. Without it there, it would make things much easier.

Got the front driveshaft pulled last week.

Finally started the process of replacing the u-joints last night. Two u-joints seemed pretty good for 96k miles.

This one... not so much.

I was thinking about greasing the CV ball and reinstalling the new u-joints. I decided against it and purchased the CV ball kit today. Pricey!

What's the best method of removing the CV ball?

I plan to get after this in the next day or two.

Sorry I can't help on the CV ball. I think Tom Woods sells a kit for the CV and u joints if I'm not mistaken.

I already have the parts I need. Doing PM / chasing vibes. I do need to adjust my rear pinion angle next.

Hey KC, I did not notice until now but we have few things in common. Two TJs in the garage (facing opposite directions) and both from opposite sides of Texas (kind of).

Yep, i got my blue 05 in September. I wanted a 4.0L so I found one. I
plan to keep them both.
Do yours have reverse gear, lol... you need to back them out and turn them around..... show off the mean grills man.
