Did you flop for the full experience?

Twice, it gets more comfortable each time.

I’m planning a midarm and outboard and considering a rear stretch. Ideally these should all be done at the same time, but I’m not sure that a stretch is necessary. The main reason I want to stretch is for more stability, but the midarm and outboard may provide all the stability I need. If I stretch then the belly is longer and that is some loss, but nothing like an LJ has built in at the same lift height. I don't think that 5" stretch will cost me more than it might gain me, but I don't know.

Is it worth it to stretch a TJ once you've done a midarm and outboard? Is there enough gain to justify all the work of moving the gas tank skid behind the rear seat or using some kind of GR gas tank to accommodate a 5" stretch? Getting new rear driveshafts, longer brake lines? New or altered corner armor? New rear fenders? The stretch ends up costing a lot of money to replace bits that are already there.

I know you saw it since you linked to it but I'll repost this tidbit.

MrBlaines words - "Generally, I can build a TJ on 35's with a mid arm suspension, good shocks, raised belly skid, and your typical lightweight armor and bumpers and it will out climb, and handle the bumps better than a stretched rig, considerably better. Unless your wheeling consists of nothing but steep hill climbs where you can also get away with lower ground clearance, stretching doesn't do a lot for you."

I have no experience with stretched TJ's but I don't see the juice being worth the squeeze unless going to a bigger tire. Now a TJU, different story IMO.

Would seem if you go the stretch route you go all the way to tons and 40’s. As mentioned above to stay 35’s probably not worth the effort and cost. My .02 cents and if I ever decided to pursue a stretch it’s go big time.

Will you triangulate the rear with the mid arm?

What is the purpose of a stretch?

I've been under the impression that when a rig is lifted it loses wheelbase and ideally we need to add back more than stock wheelbase. Is it true we ideally need more than stock wheelbase for a lifted rig?

We know when we lift the control arm angles start to steepen creating higher anti-squat. A midarm corrects poor geometry that can cause the rear springs to unload and the rig to hop. What does a stretch do? Other than the obvious increase in wheelbase.
