Your brake line looks tight:

You have a good eye. I know, and those are YJ lines. I’ve been thinking about it. I am wondering if anybody else with 4” RockJock coils is having an issue. Of course, ride height varies from rig to rig. Thanks for the reminder.

The shocks are too long for the hoses. 😉

I’ve got the Dorman ones. They accommodate my 5.5” of downtravel, but if you’re going to go through the hassle of new lines just go to AN fittings.

Another reason to move might be the shock body vs shaft. My fox's are shaft down and bent the hardline on the dorman/YJ style even after bending them away.

The nice part about a move to -3an is then you can carry a single spare and fix either side. If you change the back eventually you have a single spare for all four corners.

Do you know if the Dorman lines are longer than the YJ?

What front shocks are you using and what is the extended length? I’m going to be switching to the Currie 4” (CE-9132FP) front springs soon and I’m trying to decide on shocks.

Yes they are. You can also stick with the YJ lines and do what Rock Jock does and drill new holes for the bracket 1.5 inches lower on the frame.

Be sure to cycle your suspension and steering if you do, I can catch my hard lines already - this only puts them closer to trouble. By next season I intend to fully rerun the front hard lines.

That was my first thought. Easy solution. Then grab some fittings and hose for trail repair.

Edit: ok @rasband , then drilling new holes might not be best solution.

Rancho RS 55255

Extended 26.42
Collapsed 15.69
Travel 10.73

I went with these for travel amount and travel bias. Worked well for the lift I got from the springs.

Also ordered a new front driveshaft (Woody). Length from yoke to yoke was 42 5/8” and my pinion was 1.2* low. I talked to Shawn about it and he said 1* high is ideal, but this is always a balance with caster. I went with the X spline (longer, more engagement), and XB (boot, which is not as common, but seals everything out for life, could be helpful up here around mud, and if I rip the boot, oh well).

You'll rip the boot.

I never ripped one yet. EDIT: knowing my luck I will!

Hey, been meaning to tell you about the JKS shocks. I’m not getting notifications on here so I don’t see everything. Have to detach a bit. Then I saw it. We tried them on the White Sport with 2.5”/2” lift and they were just too long. Drove harsh at that lift height. With the TJR he’s planning on Currie 9131 springs, so I swapped them with another guy for some of the most amazing off the shelf bolt on shock ever! Rancho 5000X 55255/55256. Hopefully they are working for the guy in TN. He just got them bolted up today. I do think they are a true 3” shock, which is hard to find.

You are saying the 55255 on the your red TJ w/ Currie 4” front springs (not the white sport with 2.5” springs), correct?

Yes and no because the Currie springs are going on a Blue TJR, but they are the same length as the RockJock springs I have on the Red TJ. For clarity:

1) 55255/55256 on Big Red TJ w/RockJock 4"
2) 55255/55256 on Blue TJR with/Currie 9131 4" (about to order those springs)
3) 55239/55241 on White with 2.5" OME

Thx. My current (unknown mfg) 3” front and rear springs maintain the factory rake especially with a soft top and no back seat. I’m also trying to get a little more front travel with ride height fairly evenly splitting up and down. The free length of the Currie CE-9132FP 4” springs (22”) is nice. My current front 3” springs have a free length of only 19” and they unseat by an inch at full droop with my shock (24.00” at full extension). I’m thinking your Currie springs should stay seated at full droop with the Ranchos?

Yes, they do. I’m very happy with the springs because of their free length of 22.6”. Longest spring I know advertising 4”. Of course, true lift depends on your weight. I’m getting 4.25”.

Also, you might already know, but the passenger side is noticeably lower than the driver side. I’d need to measure again to know the exact amount. I think this is common for these springs. It doesn’t really bother me, but thought you might want to know.
