What are the 3" 2x4's for?
If I need extra height for stock jack. I may ditch them. They are low on the list.

I was thinking they'd be more useful if longer.
Add coolant
Add coolant
This is one I've debated with and have come to the conclusion that I'd rather carry water to get me off the trail and I can buy more coolant when it's available. Obviously this depends on where you are and the weather you're wheeling in.
I can always drink the water.

Woke up to my neighbor asking if I was up for a recovery mission.

He was only about a mile from the house. Slid off the road going about 30mph and narrowly missed this house.

I sat up high on the main road side and winched him safely past the house onto the road. This car is done. He’d bought it for real cheap bc the turbo was blown, and he can turn a wrench, so he fixed it all and then some. He’s got some back and neck pain and heading to Urgent Care. Poor guy. He already had back and ankle issues.

Glad you were able to help him out.
Still working on the tool bag. I added a few things to the list, and I have a few questions:
Is anything 13/16" on our rigs? Is 1 1/8" the size of the pinion and TCase yoke nut? What do we use a 12pt 10mm for?
Added to my list above:
3/8" socket (6 point for brake bleed)
Torx bits (T10 for steering column, T40, T45, T55)
14mm Hex socket for transmission fill plug
17mm Hex socket for transmission drain plug
10mm Alan key for TCase (Love ya @NashvilleTJ)
Step up 1/2" adapter
Step down 3/8" adapter
Tow strap
ATF+4
Scissors
JB Weld
Spark plug socket
12 point 10mm on one of the transfer case half bolts.
1-1/4 for the yoke nuts, I think.
That's it, the 12 point 10mm is that one TCase bolt. Thanks for that. I had these sockets for some reason. They're outliers, so I know I bought them for something on a Jeep. Which one I don't know (XJ, YJ, TJ)??? I think the pinion nut may be 1 1/8" I'll just have to check, or toss it in the tool bag and assume I'll be G2G. Thanks.

I‘ve got my transfer case off sitting on the bench getting ready to do the SYE. I grabbed a socket to see what size fit the other day. I’m pretty sure it was 1-1/4, but I can check when I get home from work tonight. I’ll check the rear pinion too since there is nothing hooked to it.
I got my trail gear list ready. I have everything except a couple of things, and some kind of bag. I have two tool rolls, a recovery bag, and I’ll need another bag for the rest. I want to get it all out on the bench, fill the tool rolls and see what’s left so I can decide what will work.
I try to travel light.

28mm fits my transfer case front yoke nut. 1-1/8 is sloppy loose
1-1/8 does fit the rear pinion nut. The 28 wouldn’t even go on.
And 1-1/8 fits the nut that came with my Advance Adapters SYE. The 28 wouldn’t go on it either.
A 29mm does fit the SYE nut and the rear pinion nut but it’s a little sloppy.
I keep trying to get my list and weight down for stuff I carry. In the latest iteration, I'm slightly up in weight.
Tools - 59lbs
Fluids - 31lbs
Parts - 34lbs
Recovery Gear - 24lbs
Total = 148lbs
I’ll report with some weights when I get this all sorted out. I think my biggest issues now are 1) how to carry rear axle shafts and 2) how or whether to consolidate the various bags of tools, parts and fluids in one larger box or bag.
Recovery gear is now in the console as per @gasiorv suggestion. Nice to have it handy.
