I forget your set up but would something like this be compatible, and you would not lose your CD player. Can connect directly to your amplifier.

It was a little device that plugged into the outlet. Tune to an empty radio station and match it to the device and you had crystal clear audio.

Thanks. Yep, that’s the route I’ve been thinking about. I use the high-level input of my amp for the head unit, so could attach this to the RCA low-level input.
