Airing down with Moab wheels

Just curious, how low are people airing down for offroad with OEM Moabs? I seem to remember reading on other forums at some point in the past that the Moabs are one of the better wheels out there as far as holding a bead at low pressures. I've run 9 psi with no issues, but that still doesn't give a lot of sidewall flex, no doubt due to the E rating.

Anyone regularly go lower than 9 running Moabs?

I started my usual 8psi many years ago with 33s and Moab wheels. Never gave it a second thought.

I've heard the same thing, but thought it applied to the slightly different '06s.
Also, don't expect them to hold (like a beadlock) when pushed against a rock.

What do you run with the coyote bead locks? Since they decrease the tire volume I would think that would give more flex at a higher pressure than if they weren’t there. I ran 6 PSI on the beach recently with mine and my tires were pretty flexly. Different set up though, I have 35 inch tires on 15 inch wheels, C rated.

So far, I still do 8psi now with 17s and the Coyotes.

Interesting. Do you notice they are more flexy at that pressure with the Coyotes than without?

I haven't noticed any difference in traction from the prior 35" MTRs on 15s. What I do notice is that the current tires with less sidewall are more laterally stable than before. It's really nice for overall tire performance when aired down. And it makes me question a lot of the traditional old timer tire recommendations because my experience is different then theirs is.
