Anyone into knives?

A friend recently gifted me this Case XX Trapper…
I added the sheath as it’s a bit too long to lay comfortably in the bottom of my pocket.

I’ve only carried it a couple of times.
The first time I took it with me, I needed a knife and completely forgot about it on my belt.

At one point I was pretty into them. Sold most of the knives but still have the case. Moved on to wwii knives/bayonets.

If you do not want to wait they have some blems on Amazon that ship immediately. That is what I did and the only thing on mine I could call a blem is the lockup it barely over 50%.

It’s Benchmade’s lube for the pivit points. Works better than the 3&1 oil my dad used to use and a bottle will last a lifetime.

More Spyderco's here. I have 2 of the orange ones (Dragonfly I think). Great EDC knife and one sits on the roll cage in the jeep. the Black one is the "Tenacious" it's the trail knife or just the general "this job sucks" knife when I'm not worried about scaring some Karen with a 5 inch blade

both are great for different jobs, both have had the snot beat out of them and both have that wonderful Spyderco thumb indent that makes it effortless to open with one hand.

I use my Spyderco the same way. It’s my yard and camping knife.

Nonetheless, here is my Oz Machine Roosevelt Golf Putter. They are generally referred to as Rosie. Only 5 were made in the configuration!

This is called Orbit. Its a collab between G&G Hawk and Serge Panchenko. IIRC, 400 Orbits were produced, Ti, Carbon and bronze scales. Fewer than 20 were bronze. They are quite rare and highly sought after.

It is very well built!

There are a handful of knife makers, most on west coast, Oz is in Indiana, that every single part of their knives are 100% USA made.

The G&G Hawk deadlock is a very difficult knife to obtain. They announce a knife drop approx once a year. The amount of traffic the website sees can be enough to crash the site. Traffic, internet connection and forms of payment all impact ones ability to be one of the lucky ones. Hawk knife drops sell out in minutes. When they become available on the secondary market, they will sell in seconds for well above table (MSRP).

The deadlock gets its name from the lock up and the literal zero blade play. All other, and I mean ALL OTHER OTF knife manufacturers are plagued with blade play, rattles and the blade exiting off center of the frame. Only the Hawks have figured out how to center the blade and create a mechanism that locks up the blade. Their design has a patent.

I wish I had a vid small enough or a site to host a vid. The noise the deadlock makes when it fires and retracts is very gratifying.

This is the Model C Ti version with a 20CV blade, tumbled hardware and blade and with carbon fiber insert.

Craig Brown, an aerospace engineer owns Brown Knives located in Blaine Wa. IIRC, he's produced half doz different models, all made with US materials.

This particular knife is the FSD. During this model run, 5 prototypes were produced, followed by 300 "production" FSD knives before being discontinued.

This is #79. Its a large knife, measuring approx 5in closed and 9in open. The 47v anodizing gives this knife a gold/green tint, depending on the lighting. Constructed of 6AL4V Ti and blade, CPM-154, hollow ground by hand and running on ceramic bearings.

It makes a very nice noise when flicking open or closing
