Basket's Build

New axle shafts for the front showed up. I am still waiting for tools to remove a lug nut on the driver (what a fiasco) but I can work on passenger side. That's the side that's was broken anyways.

Fancy new chromoly shafts from revolution

Good ol hammer and socket method.

Looks fancy. New ratchets and new ratcheting wrenches were super nice for this. Now, if I ever get my hands on the retard that put the brake pads on this axle.......

Yes when I build my workshop. It will have heated floors. I'm too old for the ground or cold concrete.

That sounds super nice. Then you can just rest on the ground if you want. I wish I could motivate myself to prioritize finishing my garage. I guess it just doesn't bug me enough yet

How many times is that now? Better get that other lug off so you can take both tires off at the same time to swap them!

Definitely over 10! Can you just swap one pad of a pair from one side to the other? I thought you shouldn't so I haven't.

New sockets show up tomorrow for that dumb lug nut. All other 9 came off easily

I don't know if you "should", but if it were mine, I would unless there is noticeable uneven wear. It's not like you are introducing a new pad to a used pad, you're just correcting the orientation you messed up on the initial install, they've all been in service for the same amount of time. That's just what I would do if it were mine and offering my opinion, which should in no way be taken as a recommendation or advise. I am not an expert in brakes or their safety, but common sense tells me that I've seen idiots run their brakes to the point the caliper pistons are ground off, and they didn't die. Swapping a known good pad from one side to the other wouldn't bother me much.

I suppose that's a good point.. I can just measure them and if they aren't wildly different swap them over. Smart! Some people on here are so smart 🤣

Damnit that means I get to take off that caliper after fighting it back on last night!!
