Basket's Build

I suppose that's a good point.. I can just measure them and if they aren't wildly different swap them over. Smart! Some people on here are so smart 🤣

Damnit that means I get to take off that caliper after fighting it back on last night!!
If you are going to swap pads to different rotors do yourself a small favor use a flat sanding block and scuff the surface of the pads and the rotors. It may not be necessary but it will get rid of any glazing on the surfaces. It will also tell you if there are any high or low spots on either surface.

With some help of new tools I got the other axle shaft replaced. Now I have a backup shaft for both sides!

I did also swap the brake pads, sure made things alot easier.

Next mission, I need to move my axle forward because the tire rod is rubbing the axle

And another thing I discovered poking around, looks like my driveshaft rubs against my engine skid strut

I'll have to see if it has other holes i can use or if flipping it gives the driveshaft a little more room.

You’d have to move your axle back to get more tie rod clearance. I’d bet your drag link is bent.

For the engine skid, are you 100% sure your axle is centered?

Lastly, do you wear earplugs when you drive? :ROFLMAO:

Oh yeah wrong direction huh. I like to think I would've figured that out when I actually got at it. I'll check the drag link too.

I do think I centered in when I did the lift but that was years ago at this point. Might as well check while I'm at it too!

It hits when I hit a big bump only when going fast. Like big big bump, never on road. I hear it and uhhh have been ignoring it a little bit.

You could also bend your drag link a little more in a press. You may have flattened it some hitting a rock at some point of course that will require redoing your toe and centering your steering wheel.

Looks like the engine skid strut is on its way to self clearancing.

It self clearances.. until you saw off the engine skid or the drive shaft like Craig did on Chinaman.

You should definitely check center, but if you are centered and are somehow still running into it - you could move that engine skid arm more vertical like you'd need to with a midarm.

How do you do that? Drill new holes?

Remember , knowing when to say , "Better not do this" on a certain obstacle , can make this trip much more enjoyable for you . Have fun ! and use your head !

I'll probably do mostly dirt roads and maybe la salle pass. Just easy stuff that is nearby! And let the dog play in the snow. Will just be fun to get out
