I could see that through Vaughn and his Factory backed RTR (Ready to Rock) business.I'd bet if they do end up selling it, complete, they'd outsource it like they do with the Shelby gt500.

Not the same. The base vehicle has to be produced at the 1000 unit minimum before it can be modified to be entered. There is some gray area about the Savvy rig in that you could make a case that a 1000 hadn't been produced yet but there is no doubt they were not going to be produced.I wonder if they're going to pull the same thing Jeep/Savvy pulled in 2019 when they put the Gladiator in the stock class. List of mods are roughly similar and Savvy didn't produce 1000 units.
Looks like it only has front portals to try and get the A arms up out of the rocks a bit.I'm pretty stoked to see this. With the portals and long travel it's the first example I saw that could actually do rock trails. I am looking forward to seeing one on the trail so I can see for myself how the IFS does on our local stuff.
With the front only portals, that has to make for some pretty interesting gear math to get matching wheel speeds.I'm pretty stoked to see this. Math. Math is hard. With the front only portals, that has to make for some pretty interesting gear math to get matching wheel speeds.
I was thinking more along the lines of needing a ratio that isn't commonly available.Math. Math is hard.
Dynatrac High Pinion XD Dana 60 Rear Axle which utilizes a 10 inch ring gear (Dana Super 60) vs a factory 9.75 inch Dana 60
You can now buy Fords with factory 37’s. My Ford truck is ordered with 35’s.I'm surprised they didn't go to a 70 like we're seeing most of the other cars do.
Is this about selling this Race Edition(?) Bonco or about marketing/research for their street legal daily driver Broncos? Similar to what F1 is (nobody is actually going to just buy a Mercedes F1 for their track day but the technologies and research does trickle down). Unless they get in the wins or are competitive in the price, why would somebody want the Ford Bronco (Race Edition?) vs another winning platform? The pro of the Jeeps so far vs a UTV is that you can drive it on the street, and Jeep would still have this advantage vs the race edition Bronco.
Also, if you have a $100,000+ racing trail bronco, are you really going to bring it to the local dealer for service and repair? My local dealer denies service to 35" tires. I find this hard to believe.
Yes the whole world of Ifs rigs could see a major bump in rockability if bolt on portal knuckles and rcvs become a thing.I like that Ford went to vendors that know the sport. 74 Weld has been working on portals for a while. I agree with Mr. Blaine, the gear selection will be interesting but, I hope it catches on so these can end up in the after market. Think of all the Toyota Tacomas in need of stronger front end options.
Ya that's what I saw also. Wonder how the gears do for cooling driving for hours at 75mph. Doesnt look like much oil cooling and right next to hot brakes.Looks like it only has front portals to try and get the A arms up out of the rocks a bit.
You aren't using the brakes that much for hours at 75 and I suspect the gears will live about as long as unit bearings do at those temps and speeds.Ya that's what I saw also. Why? And which cars run the 70?I'm surprised they didn't go to a 70 like we're seeing most of the other cars do.
Seems like an exception to the rule.My local dealer denies service to 35" tires. I find this hard to believe.
Maybe LiteBrites, anyone hear how their doing? Their dyno video the other day was interesting. Why? And which cars run the 70?
No, the LiteBrite team runs Spidertrax axles front and rear, the most popular axle in Ultra 4.Maybe LiteBrites, anyone hear how their doing? Their dyno video the other day was interesting.
