It just happened!

Passenger side stock fender pulled. Had to relocate the vacuum box underneath the battery. Drilled holes in the stock fendets supports and used some leftover 1" rubber spacers. New Genright fender is in but need to mount the stuff to the inner fender. I'm going to replace all the battery cables with 2 guage cables , so I'll probably wait until then before doing so.

Passenger side fender is locked in place. This side didn't fit as clean as the other side and took some massaging to get it right. Engine fuse/relay box is fixed, and the airbox is just sitting, mocked up. As it sits, it just fits but requires the elimination of the grill support rod.

Moving forward, I'm going to see if I can extend the air intake tube straight and bore a hole in the grill to pull air from there. My alternatives are: pull air from the hot engine compartment,; pull air from the cowl area (Windstar mod); or pull air from the grill. Also, I'm going to see ifI can maintain the grill support rod by bending/tweaking it.

What are your thoughts on cutting the oem fenders to keep the inner fenders?

You could keep the stock fenders and follow the Genright pattern to cut them. This allows you to keep all the factory mounting locations for the stuff that's attached to the fenders. However, doing this is a fair amount of work and yields, in my opinion, a job that doesn't look finished. FWIW, where I see this a viable alternative would be in the rust belt. Removing all the fender bolts could turn into a nightmare, if they start breaking during the removal process.

That said, the Genright inner fenders really aren't hard to install. They just require patience to get fitted right. In my case, there were zero significant hurdles. Just minor tweaks to make it right. Even the stock airbox fit nicely, with a little care.

Finished up the passenger side fender install. I'm very happy with how this turned out., Even then factory airbox fit nicely. To make that happen I used some 1" rubber spacers that allowed me to position it for use with the stock air intake. Also, I learned from the other side and cleaned up the wiring.

thanks for documenting your work. This will come in very handy when I start mine although it won't be as good as yours

Was able to make a couple tweaks and got the stock grill rod connected. In usual fashion, I documented clearance numbers, before and after, so I can get that written up (Coming in the future).

That said, I'm finished with the fender install, for this phase. Overall, the results exceeded my expectations and the only stock component I couldn't get to work was the windshield washer bottle. Had I not had an ARB compressor installed on the ABS tray, that could have been made work also.

Fender install is looking great!

One tip - I don't think your use of the GR turn signal kit is doing you any favors/usefulness.

The kit is originally intended to be installed under the hood hold-downs.

From that install - you can see the light from the front (barely) and along the side of the vehicle - my install of the same parts:

I'd bet yours isn't visible at all in the front and hardly at the spot where I took my pic (around the door)

All installs are different but my tire flexes never got close where they'd take that light out. FWIW

I need to sort this out. I'm not happy about the lighting. The existing location isn't visible to anyone, unless I'm running over them! :(
