JK Dana 44 Axles Into TJ

That doesn't look like an odb2 code number, I've never see that description before ether.

No chance you could epoxy or plastic weld the leak? I've done plastic welding on a few things with a temp controlled soldering iron and the right filler material. (up here princess auto sells the plastic filler rods, so probably HF would have em there) I've also used zip ties in a pinch as filler.

There must have been a time
when we could have said no.

I would be trying to plug, patch, seal the leak long before I buy a new tank. You have nothing to lose if it doesn't work.

Does anyone have an killer tips on getting an in-tank fuel pump and rubber gasket set into the fuel tank? A buddy of mine was awesome enough to give me his extra ‘02 TJ tank since mine is leaking, and my fuel pump and gasket will not get seated into the tank. I even went to O’Reilly’s and grabbed a new pump to test fit it into the tank (without buying it), and it wouldn’t fit. The old gasket fits the new tank, but the pump doesn’t seem to. It could completely be operator error, but I’m at a loss, and am trying to get this running. Even though my rig is a 2002, and the tank I was given is a 2002, I recognize that there may be a different pump available (Delphi or Bosch, etc.)

Thanks for any tips you may have!

How do mean? Too long, wide, ???

The diameter is too large. It won’t go in and tries to fold the rubber gasket into the tank. I’ve tried oil on the gasket and everything. I’ve put my entire body weight into it too.

Sounds like you have the wrong parts.

It took some doing, but I beat it. I did this YouTube video to help others in the future.

When you said The Rear End Shop I knew you were somewhere close to Riverbank, then I saw you're from Tracy. I'm in Modesto, maybe I'll see you sometime. The Rear End Shop has been very good to me in the past.

Right on! Yes, I have gone to TRES in Livermore (not Riverbank), but you’re spot on with catching that.

I’ll have to post up the next time I go on a planned run.

Knocked out a few more things tonight... Reset the rear LED taillights, and set the trim rings with silicone. Ran new, longer, axle breather hoses and check valves, due to the longer suspension travel. Adjusted the Drag Link. Re-Centered the Fox Steering Stabilizer Mount. Wired up the front LED light bar. Anddddd..., I’m out of daylight. Tune in tomorrow for more!
