I wanted to shed some light on the MCE flat fenders.

Most sales people at the typical Jeep vendors; 4WD hardware Quadratec..etc..
Don't really know this information.

The size of the MCE comes in 3, 4 and 6 inch respectively.

I asked the rep where is that measurement at. Their answer was at the widest part.

WRONG.

That measurement is where the break over angle starts going down the side of the fender.
Needless to say I got 6"...once in hand I learned this information and realized I needed 4.5".

All on backorder. What to do. What to do.

I measured 1.5" from the inner side and took a utility knife to them. Drilled new holes and I now had 4.5" fenders that I wanted in the first place.

Easy install minus the hour of cutting both fenders. (New ones with a razor blade. )

Anyways cutting them was easy. Making a few passes abd creating a groove you can go pretty quick and a good sharp blade goes through that plastic easily.

Thought I'd share

Somewhere in the marketing they state that the 4.5" is comparable to the Sahara/Rubicon 4" flare. I found that to be pretty accurate.

That would be true but the vendors don't seem to understand that.

I do like them and the concept of plastic initially was blah...when you think about it plastic gives.

I'm pleased with them so far.

Lifetime warranty, can't beat that.

Unless they blow off on the highway, I’m not sure how many times they’ll replace them under that condition. That so far has hampered my interest in them even though I like the form and function.

At least twice, so far. I made a change to the rear mounting posts this time around. I'll discuss it more after this weekend once I can see that they stay in place.

I still haven't put my rears on, I just like the old school look...until I go through mud, and have to clean it off of everything inside.
