February has put a damper on work, too cold and rainy to check hives, so I have spent the last bunch of days in the shop getting the Jeep ready for SandHollow next month. I haven't greased the Johnny Joints in a few years, so took them all out, disassembled, cleaned up, greased up and put back together, they needed it! Of the 14 total joints, only the 6 uppers had any grease left in them. The lower joints looked like this more or less:

I use the Redline CV-2 grease and now all joints buttery smooth. Also, greased u-joints, centering balls, chassis, re-torqued nuts, and finally washed, polished and waxed. Still need to do a brake flush but will get to that shortly.

Hanson built me a custom rear bumper for my Nissan pickup that I had a Warn 6k winch mounted in. And a front bumper for a 8274 winch. This was back when he was still a smaller shop. Like around 1991.

That is a nice bumper. Any idea of the weight?

And that was back in the day when the original owner/designer was in charge, I fell in love with the Hansen bumpers 25 years ago, the new owner has horrendous customer service and I would never order from him again. As much as I love the look, I shoulda kept the weight off and gone Savvy with the rest of the parts I have on her...

Wayne Hanson was the founder, he sold the business to Steve Kramer years ago, if Steve is still in charge, run, don't walk from him and the rest of his companies. You look him up and I think you will see what I mean...the product is great, the service is so shitty the great product doesn't make up for it, in my opinion...I have the rear bumper/tire carrier as well...

I didn't know he'd sold it. He'd built a really nice cage for a friend of mine with a 70's CJ5.

Yes Steve seems to ruin everything he touches unfortunately.

Just got back from 4 days in Sand Hollow, we had a great time, decent weather and not crowded. We ran Double Sammy, Triple 7's, Fawlty Towers, Death Row, upper half of Papa Smurf, Dead Broke and one or 2 others I can't remember. My TJ continues to impress me, even when I fail her! also, ran into Matt and Robbie filming something, nice guys in person...

Oh, when I got home, my TJ Forum flag was waiting for me, looks great and will use next time, thanks again @hosejockey61...lastly, I think it is time for some new fenders, I would love to find some old Poison Spyder Defender series 0 or 4" flare, not quite sure if I go the high line route but am considering...
