We could do a day run. It would be a long day for you bay area crew. If you two are up for camping, you could head up Friday night and camp near Willows, then we could meet up early Saturday morning.

I was thinking the 17th too Tom. Lunch at Plaskett Meadows, explore the area, then I could either lead them down to Covelo, or we could just double back down the 7 back to SR5. I'd like to take the M1 to Hull, but that's just too long and not enough daylight to pull it off.

I'm fairly confident I can make this work. I already got the OK from the wife and getting the baby sat for a few hours while she goes to work by a grandparent shouldn't be to much of a problem. I will probably just leave super early in the morning Saturday and meet you guys in Willows.

That F-7 up from willows is an easy drive up to Plaskett, I have explored a little around there and they have some cool cabins around there. Its about 2 hours from Willows to Plaskett but that leaves some time to explore. I've seen some turn offs that I wouldn't mind exploring. Anthonys Peck and Wells Cabin are close too

Looking forward to the run. Hopefully @tomtaylz can get some good photos in. Good thing we got that CB installed. I'll make sure to add the hammer to my tool bag this time.

So in my head, meet in Willows, head up 162. There is rattlesnake ridge where some firefighters lost their lives in the 30's and the last toilet for a while. Then though Adler Springs. Cruising the FS roads will be dusty with no rain yet, We can book it right to Plaskett, passing all the turn offs, which can be confusing, and plan from there? There is nothing challenging on the main road, we would have to go look for some obstacles.

I've been up plenty with the wife and kids with the trailer to camping spots, I just haven't explored much. The main road is really confusing if you don't know where you are. (which i do )

We'll want to make the meet up time early, say 8am. Limited on daylight, and I don't like being up there in the dark unless I'm hunkered in for camp with a beer in my hand in front of a campfire.

I'm game for doing some exploring to find something a bit on the sportier side. I have a CA trail book I'll take a look and see if it has any trails in the area.

I have my MNF map and if I'm being honest the map in my head is worth a lot.

With a good start there is either a loop from the F-7 at Anthonys Peak over to the M-4 and back down into Paskenta and Corning.
Or from A.P. up the M-2 to Howards Lake.... that maybe a bit ambitious

Um there is not a lot of tent camping in the valley.
Once we are up there are a lot of camping spots off the F7. I’m just north of Willows if you want to crash at my house. I gots extra beds.

Oh. Stoney Gorge has camping year round. We could pick you up along the way. Or Black Butte and you could drive down to elk creek to meet up
