Agreed x2If you're fully locked Yes you can break a u-joint but it isn't 100% always going to happen. It takes many times for the ears on the shaft to stretch or break on the shaft which then takes out the u-joint. But how many times are you ever fully lock to lock when driving on the street?
Yes they do have issues but at higher steering angles add some speed and it binds and like Wildman said,do it enough times and they'll breakIIf you apply a lot of torque to the front at high speed and the steering wheel is turned to the maximum left for example, doesn't it breakthe ujoint? I thought that u-joints have issues at high angles at high speeds.
That's why I snagged a set of cv shafts from a v8 Zj I believe ? You can get em at oreilys, they aren't Rcvs but they're cheap and pretty alright (they aren't "bulletproof" but they're technically stronger at full steering bump since they don't bind like a U joint shaft does)
Main reason I got them is that I can do better 4wd cyclones/donuts
