Driving a stick is cool up until you get the point where it is no longer cool. I cant confirm or deny Chris is at that point but I have gotten there myself.Cool, you must really not like driving a stick.![]()

Best i can describe it is that the auto is the way to go when the trail gets so tough that the LAST thing you need to worry about is working the clutch.I actually enjoy driving the stick more than the auto on-road.
However, after doing a lot of the technical rock crawling trails out here, I'm finding out that the automatic is extremely advantageous. The terrain down here as I'm sure you're aware is a lot different than Oregon.
In my mind, not having to manipulate the throttle, clutch, and brakes all at the same time will be refreshing.
At this point my TJ has pretty much become a dedicated trail rig with some occasional sunny day, in-town cruising, so I can live with the auto.
What's going to suck is the 4.88 gears with the 42RLE. I'd like to swap them out to 5.38, but that would inflate my bill to be more than I can afford right now. So, I think I'll just wait to do the 5.38 gears until I add the Detroit full case locker in the front and the ARB in the rear.

I've done a lot of mods but best mod i ever did was the auto swap.I'm there. I grew up driving nothing but stick and have spent most of my life driving manuals.
With the way I use the Jeep now the automatic makes much more sense.

I went through a lot of effort to find a manual LJ, even though my last Jeep was an auto. I prefer them, but understand others feel different, and am glad Chris is gonna get what he would rather have.![]()
I spent a lot of time finding the right manual TJ as well. Now i am happy that my jeep has 2 pedals.I went through a lot of effort to find a manual LJ, even though my last Jeep was an auto. Just picked up a trans jack from a friend and should start tearin shit apart this week!Yep, and while I haven't done the toughest trails yet, I've done several where I found myself stalling the rig right in the middle of an obstacle, rolling backwards and having to manipulate the throttle, brake, and clutch all at the same time, etc.
One less thing to worry about means I can focus easier on the obstacle at hand. @starkey480 who I wheel with regularly is in the process of converting his to an auto as well for these same reasons. I can't say I blame him.

I am spray gun illiterate. I'm setting up a pressure pot for spray grade solvent based contact adhesive. A 1.8mm tip is recommended. I purchased a used Binks 2100 that appears to be in decent shape. This kit would do 98% of what you want to do. The big gun has a 1.4mm tip for basecoat/clearcoat paint. The 1.8mm tip works well for primer. The touch up gun works well for small jobs and touch ups.
