Recommendations for Lightweight Rear Bumper

For a bike rack I'd at least consider the Barnes bumper. They make good stuff, 10% off with any youtube jerkface coupon you can find.
I’m considering it now for $325 compared to the other two bumpers around $500.Doesn’t look to bad. I just wish they didn’t have their logo on there but painting it black you can barely tell it’s there.

Went with the Metalcloak. Did not want a hitch receiver

Resurrecting an old thread... the list with weights and links is super helpful.
Question-- Looks like most the lighter bumpers don't run full length. I'm not comp cut, anyone having problems with smashing in rear corners? Seems like a super exposed area? I run stubby up front but my tire hits before the fender does. @Fluxor saw you are designing hinges and tire carrier, you doing bumpers to match?

Yes, he has rear bumpers.

Yes, so we get corner armor.

@Zorba I have a homemade bumper right now. Starting to play the weight shaving game. Keep hearing how much extra weight the bumper mounted spare spare tire holder is. Few of the bumpers on here were as light as 18-20#

@JMT thanks didn't realize he had a website, been following his IG. I've smacked my ass pretty hard more than once. Scared an impact that hard straight to the corner even with armor would buckle it both. My bumper hangs low though which is probably why I keep hitting it

Yes, I’m waiting on the rear that matches the front to hit the break press.

That's a beautiful piece. I installed UCF's aluminum bumper, which looks very similar, but you definitely addressed the vulnerable bottom corners and the raised soft shackle mounts compliment it's design. Are these built to order, i.e. the possibility to order without the 2" receiver?

View attachment 292207I got the Barnes 4x4 a few weeks ago and couldn’t be happier. I had it 3 days after ordering and it was far lighter than expected

that's what I have. Actually it is the 7 Slot Customs version. Same as the Barnes

Wish I got the one with the receiver.

Yes, finished the second article and plan to do some pull test this weekend. I’m stoked with how it’s turned out so far. View attachment 592977View attachment 592978
This is with soft shackle mounts and rash guards, does not include hitch weight.

Is this tow rated? I am going to be adding a Tentrax soon.

Thanks! Yes they will be available in three options. The full kit, with receiver/no shackle mounts and with shackle mounts/no receiver. They will be built in batches of 8 similar to my front bumper. All versions will include stainless rash guards.
