Are there gaskets that go between the tub and the light?

Factory tail lights have a rubber cushion on the backside of the light that squeezes between the light and tub when the bolts are tightened. I have not seen anything implemented like that on most aftermarket lights. I have not seen a similar reproduction gasket for the backside either. I do have the lens ones from DMT like you linked.

Your tailgate gasket keep water out of the tub which would rust otherwise. My tailgate gasket was messed up and caused puddles on the front floor boards because it ran forward. Don't skimp on them.

So you have gaskets between the tub and light housing? What I'm reading is that most people don't have them there or they were a thin foam sticker. The gaskets I asked about were between the lens and body.

I would not worry so much about a body to light gasket and use some RTV on the top and down the sides but leave the bottom open to drain. Lens gaskets are useful if you can find them.
