I'm aiming for twice a year, once we get a camper it'll be easier, but we have a kid that is doing organized sports and I want to be there for all of them.If I lived where you guys live, I’d be in Moab atleast once a month.

I drove White Rim Road in October. I'd totally recommend it if you can get a permit - the views were unreal. Not super technical but wow.I'm aiming for twice a year, once we get a camper it'll be easier, but we have a kid that is doing organized sports and I want to be there for all of them.
I did it September of a year ago - we camped at the Midway point (Murphy camping spots). It really was impressive, and got better toward the end (clockwise).I drove White Rim Road in October. I'd totally recommend it if you can get a permit - the views were unreal. Not super technical but wow.
Ah okay! It's a fun drive. That poor guy, that sucks but I guess you get what you ask for lol. I stayed at Airport and Labrynth since I was "sag wagon" for my friends on mountain bikes. They seemed a lot more miserable than me at the end of the day!I did it September of a year ago - we camped at the Midway point (Murphy camping spots). Ours was exceptionally fun because a random guy rented a Ford escape and went full send on the tough climb before Murphy hill. The next morning as we were driving we started seeing more and more oil spots on the trail and eventually found him.
Since it was a rental I refused to patch the oil pan, but we did give him a ride out to the ranger station. He got a $1700 towing bill and some crazy fine for being out on the trail overnight without a permit... I never heard what the rental place charged.
Not this year, since the new build won't be done. I'm somewhat passing the torch/jeep to @Mrs.Apparition
Yes, that was fun.I still liked meeting everyone we ran into at Suzie's Roadhouse but I don't think it's big enough for the large group. We should plan a night at Jax.
No kiddingOh wow! Man that makes me feel really lucky I made it through that loop with no lift and no issues
If you had my wife you'd be lucky to see Moab once a yearIf I lived where you guys live, I’d be in Moab atleast once a month.
Yes....for him passing the KOA Campground Ambassador duties to you. I'll be there, just not at the KOA@hosejockey61 laugh reaction? Girls can jeep too!! Are you going to tj fest?
This time it'll be easier. Less scraping, anywaysNo kidding
Just take the hard top off this trip and put a bikini top on, there inexpensive.Yes... I'm still rocking the same duct tape I put on at the KOA! I really should finally fix it, I have all the crap for it
Ah makes sense. Well I'll be sure to not go quite that low, then...
I’ll take some education on the gmrs radio! I bought 2 UV-9G baofeng gmrs radios in December that I’ll be bringing but I’m still learning how to use them.A word of caution from Grampa's Garage about lockers and slickrock...
"Be sure to turn your lockers off before turning on slickrock! We see a lot of broken lockers, axles, and especially joints due to the excellent traction."
So, use them on the straight climbs, but turn them off as soon as you don't NEED them! And bring an extra set of joints, just in case.
On a separate issue, if people have radio questions or need programming I'm here to help. I recommend everyone have their own copy of RT Systems software and cable! I'll send last years file to anyone who wants it. Email dino.kx6d at the Gmail place.
I bought two of these for last year and loaned them out. They are still a great deal at this price. Send them to me and I'll program them or buy the RT Systems software AND cable and I'll send you the file!! These radios do race radio ham, frs, and gmrs. When they break, use them to chock your tires.

Have fun this year!!

I made a handheld mount out of a piece of galvanized corner brace I found at Home Depot for my UV-9G. I’ll post a picture up this evening when my wife brings my Jeep back…. She conned me into letting her drive it to work today….I need to figure out a way to mount my handheld GMRS. There has to be a way. It can be annoying with it in the cupholder or wedged between the seat and console.
I already tore out my CB stuff a couple weeks ago when I did the BedRug. Good riddance. I had more problems with that than I did graduating from the university.
I do have a soft top I got over the winter I plan on bringing this time. If it's as windy as last time though I wouldn't have unzipped it and it'd just ripped anywaysJust take the hard top off this trip and put a bikini top on, there inexpensive.
I'm planning on it just not 100% sure until I see how a couple things work out in the next week or so
I notified @Chris yesterday regarding the error, he thought he had it fixed. Not entirely sure what info is supposed to entered on that line, I tried several items and same response.I get an error on the registration site when trying to make a donation.

I think Chris may have to approve them before they show upI think there’s an issue with the attendees list, I registered yesterday and I don’t see my name showing up and the total of people registered hasn’t changed from 7 that it was yesterday. I’m sure atleast one more aside from myself has registered since then
