Track bar replacement / steering upgrade

Man..... know im second guessing my decision to drill my axle side up. Looks like im pretty much stuck with a MC track bar. I have no issues with it so far. But i do like to change my mind a lot.
Seems like some good marketing.
Now they got you where they want you.

We can figure something out if you ever want to change it.

Hmm, if the JKS OGS126 and the JKS OGS128 both required drilling then I don’t see why I shouldn’t just go for the beefier 128. It looks like there will be more than enough room with the big ole bend in it to accommodate the diff cover. Boinked pointed out it that they seem to have already been enlarged so it should be a bolt in affair.
I only think the frame side is drilled. The axle side looks like its stock.

I’m not sure if you are saying you had to make new holes after the RE track bar or if you were able to conveniently use the holes you had previously drilled. Lol I read it like 3 times trying to figure it out.
Give me like 30min I’m running to the store I’ll take pictures of the RE track bar. You’ll see why you shouldn’t buy it.

Reason why not to buy Rubicon Express trac bar. RE requires you to drill two holes in your frame(red arrow) for their adapter and I think it still requires you to drill on driver side. someone will confirm by looking at the nut(blue arrow). If I had known back then their was another option for a trac bar I would have went with currie or jks. I didn’t have this forum back then and I didn’t know what was a good part or not. I had seen Rubicon Express a lot so I thought they were good. It’s better to drill 1 hole which currie and what I read above Jks also requires you to do rather than 3 holes with RE trac bar.

In your defense I think RE used to be good in the YJ days, but somewhere they sold out to another company, and it is not the same company it used to be. I probably wouldn't have known either if I hadn't come to this Forum. Don't beat yourself up just fix the issue, and come back more often and share your new knowledge.

Yea lesson learned. I have the Currie trac bar now but they failed to provide me a bolt for the passenger side. So I can’t put that on.

Yeah they expect you use the factory bolt and nut on the pass side.

I have a currie front myself.

Take a very close look at the diff cover. Is there any evidence that the track bar has come in contact with it?

Have the bump stops been extended?

Well I don’t see the adapter you posted so I guess that’s 2 less holes to worry about. Lol

I took a closer look but I don’t see any nicks or abrasions that would indicate contact but It is dark and wet out side right now.

these bumpstops look extended to my untrained eye.

I ordered the JKS OGS128 and it will arrive on Friday so I’ll be able to put it in this weekend if all goes well.

Nope, I don't seen any extended bumpstops there. You would see them on the bottom connected to the pad.

Oh I see what you mean. Thanks!
I’ll I read up on the post from Fuse and try to check them this way.
Checking bump stops

I’d like to order some ahead of time and this weekend kinda tackle that as well. Perhaps if I got some that are a little longer then necessary so that I can shave any excess off?
