I have an ‘05 TJ, and looking at getting an air compressor. I’d like to not have it underneath my hood, plus there’s not much room in there with everything else I’ve done. Wondering where you guys put yours. The dimensions of the one I’m looking at is
15” long
6” wide
8” tall

I have an 04 TJ Rubicon, which has an unused tray below the brake booster. That is where I originally had a Viair compressor mounted. When I went to an ARB air locker in the rear I changed the compressor out to an ARB with the locker solenoid and air fill port. If you have ABS brakes that tray is probably used and unavailable.

I would use that spot

I would use that spot, but I put my aux fuse block there.

I have an arb mounted between the window washer tank and the brake booster. It’s mounted sideways with remote air filter to clear the hood. I’ll try to get a good pic.

Have a sPod under the hood? If not you can do the same as this, or buy the bracket.

I mounted mine in the same spot as Jim:

I thought you had an AC compressor at one point, no room with the supercharger? How does it compare performance wise?

The York was not compatible with the supercharger. So far, the ARB Twin seems to be comparable to the York at engine idle which is plenty fast.

I opted for the ABS tray. Really wish I had ABS but the spot was empty and space is so limited I didn't want to mount it inside
Didn't want to have to open the hood so ran power to the Auxbeam panel and remote mounted the chuck on the front bumper.

I like this a lot!

Did you fab the box yourself?

Thank you :D

Yes I did. 20 ga. steel, 2"dimlpes, and the stock ARB switch is in that rectangle hole. The top has 3/8" beads and stamped #10 finish washers.

A good use I found for the ABS tray is to mount a small, 1/2 gallon air tank off the compressor (which is mounted on the fender).

Helps a lot when I’m airing up and running air tools…😉

Very nice! Can you make one for me?
