Besides, no time for the rig with Christmas coming. With two new grandkids this year I have a couple of toy boxes to make. On top of these for a couple of doggies in the family:

I do have the carving on one of the kids’ toy boxes complete. Caleb’s brother already has a Jeep, so this is Pop Pop’s other hobby:

That would be an expensive trip to Moab to just sit... And I'm not a very good passenger...

WOW I didn't know that you had cut that many sidewalls... Shame on BFG for discontinuing your tire...

You could always go (EEK) TSL since a lot of their tires have some tough sidewalls...

Yes I know for you lift it to fit a taller tire is really a lot of work. And I know how hard you worked for that tire to fender clearance in the front. And if you went to 42's then would you have to be thinking about a stronger front axle to match your rear???
Believe me I get it. If I want to even consider 40's I've got to first get stronger axles. And then I'm not sure. But heck I want to just drive it for a while first.

The front axle is plenty strong for 42’s or 43’s, that’s not the issue. I run spacers in the front to match the width of the 14 bolt, and the spacers actually create a clearance issue at the back of the fender at full lock. I need to go to a wider axle to deal with that.

I guess I'd misunderstood.. So still need a new axle just isn't a strength issue..

So we both need wider axles... I'd like to think I can squeak by with 65" WMS since I'd like to try and keep my width down to fit between those pesky trees that grow up here in the PNW...

And my next project for after Christmas. Another big rolling steel work bench with 400 pound capacity drawers. No time for Jeep stuff… 😉

I’ve ordered the drawer units which slide down inside the frame. They should be here just before Christmas. Mainly though, just another fun project to occupy my time.

Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours also. My daughter is working & then going to spend the afternoon at a event with friends so I'm Home Alone....
So I'm working on my Jeep.
