EPDM is the material used in serpentine belts - I know you knew thatI also decided to use a rubber backing sheet on the sliders. I finally made this decision based on my body man’s preference for not putting metal to metal, even though he commented that it would probably be fine without it since the two pieces would not be moving. After researching various rubbers, I decided on EPDM sheets. If you’re considering this, check out the properties and uses of EPDM.

That stuff will never wear out, very good choice from a longevity standpoint.
Careful when you peel off that backing, and apply, when it sticks to whatever, it don't wanna let go....

You should have seen the trails today. We pushed the limits! Had a few very tricky spots. Did a bunch of scraping. Left with a few battle scars and no breakage. Whew!!!
