A great experience with Blue Monkey Motorsports (the company who sells the SpeedoHealer)

To combat my insanely inaccurate speedometer on my Rubicon after installing the 35s and the 5.38 Revolution gears, I decided to purchase a Blue Monkey SpeedoHealer. This is the only unit that is 100% plug-and-play, which I really like. They also have an app to make the math easy (it's a very basic app).

Anyways, I ordered it on August 6th, knowing that there was a 21 day lead time (as mentioned in their eBay listing) since they get some of the electronics from Europe (this is what they told me when I inquired about the lead time).

I haven't received it yet, so I reached out to them the other day asking if they have any ETA on when it might ship. He told me that this shipment from Europe was taking a little longer than usual, but it should be here on Friday, so mine should ship out either this Friday or next Monday.

I was happy with that, as I was mostly just inquiring out of curiosity. Today I received an email on eBay out of nowhere from the owner of Blue Monkey Motorsports. This was what he said in his email:

Also, because we really do hate making people wait...and owning a family-run business I believe it's important to stand behind my estimated time tables, we refunded 10% of your order to take a little sting out of the extra delay.

This was absolutely unnecessary, but also a very kind gesture. This sort of thing let's me know that this is a business that cares about customer service and satisfaction.

While I haven't received the unit itself (so I can't share my thoughts on it), everyone else seems to love it, and I'm sure I will too. More importantly though, these guys have awesome customer service.

Me too! I value a company that offers good customer service. In this day and age, good customer service is what it takes for a business to survive.

That's why I went with the SpeedoHealer. There were other options, but none of them used factory style plugs. I like that this one plugs in, so I don't have to tap into wires and do a bunch of electrical tape / heat shrinking. It makes for a cleaner install.

It will be nice to have. My speedometer is so far off it's absurd.

When you do get it, do the math yourself. I went off of a chart that was included in my package (same ebay link) and it was off. I ended up recording my speed at 60 and did the calculation the old fashioned way. Spot on.

I downloaded the SpeedoHealer app on iOS. It's got a build in calculator where you put in your real speed, posted speed, and one other variable. It then gives you the percentage you need to calibrate it.

No idea how accurate it is, but I may try the calculator, then try the real math and see if they are the same.

Taking off 10% isn't hurting their bottom line BUT, what it is doing is this thread right here; exhibiting excellent cs which will go much further than the discount. In the "instant information" age we are in now, this will go a long way for Blue Monkey. Good on them.:thumbsup:

Very true indeed! In this day and age, the excellent review is what matters the most.

I installed mine and it's so easy to setup. Now what I see on the speedo matches the GPS .For what it costs and how easy it is to setup, I think everyone with bigger tires and a regear really should get one.

Pending your review once received, I have plans to follow suit when I purchase bigger tires for my TJ based off their reputation and this thread. Thanks for sharing.

I too bought one from ebay and had to wait a little longer than they stated but since the Jeep was in pieces I didn't really think about it. I will say the product works exactly as described, is as easy to install as described and has my speedometer reading spot on. Yes its a few bucks more but I'll gladly pay that for its "plug and play" approach.

SpeedoHealer is a great product. I had to use it for a super short shaft SYE that uses a tone wheel instead of a gear. I used the percent correction recommended, then tweaked the number to match the gps.

That 10% refund is the cheapest advertising he will ever buy. Smart business man. When I had my railroad crossing warning signal business and just starting out, I bid a job for 9 crossing units at $18,000 each. When I arrived to install them they had relocated an intersection and no longer needed the 9th unit. I was so poor and needed every penny but gave them a refund for $18,000. 3 months later they purchased another location and I was called to install 32 units because of my "good" customer service.
