What did you do to your TJ today?

Took off my rock sliders to clean up underneath and reapply fluid film. Must have removed 5 lbs of sand off of them.

While waiting on the postman to bring parts, I gave the Jeep a good cleaning, inside and out.

Once the parts arrived, I swapped the blown front speakers for new ones.

And I swapped out the center wheel caps with black ones. The PO had tried to paint the aluminum ones, but didn't do a good job.

Overall, a fun day. I had more to do, but ran out of daylight, so I guess that will be a post for another day.

I had this annoying noise sounded like I was in a barrel when I went down the road. Had some play in the left rear wheel bearing so I spent the morning changing both rear wheel bearings. When the sealant on the differential cover has the recommended 24 hrs. on it I will fill it up with oil and see if I have solved the problem.

We used to have a beautiful girl named Eisha, one of my best. Really miss her.View attachment 135482
We lost our Shepherd/Chow mix in 2015, her name was Tipper. She is 12 years old in the picture. I just remembered she got run over by a Wrangler when she was a year old. The tires didn’t hit her but she rolled under it, she got cut up real bad and knocked out a couple teeth. I was at work and my MIL was watching her, she saw a squirrel and took off!

Made my own version on the Jeep Instatrunk….made the top longer to slide under the rear seatbelt mounts. Only way to get the shelf out now is to lower the back seat and slide it towards the front. So with the rear door locked its pretty secure. Very simple and will stop some undesirables trying to get their mits on my stuff.

Today I finished up what I ran out of daylight on yesterday. The factory subwoofer box between the seats has been previously upgraded to the Kicker 6.5 & the Kicker 200.1 Amp. On certain bass frequencies, the tray that holds junk in the center console would rattle. My solution, cover it in sound deadening material. I also put some on the inside of the center console on the passenger side (away from the direction of the sub speaker.) The result is a much tighter base, with less rattling noises.

Been meaning to do this for awhile now. What material do you use to make it?

Nothing fancy....just some 15mm (sorry half inch) treated pine....if you lean on it it will flex a little so I put 2 cross beams underneath for support....it does the job and I can still take it out quickly by folding the back seat up and dropping in my tool box for work.

If you fill the cavity of the sub with polyfill(cheap walmart pillows are packed with this material) the sound will be even better. This is also a great time to fill the overhead speaker enclosure with the same material and the front speaker
