Back in an LJR (build / plans)

Nice! How do you like the ride/lift compared to your old LJ

I haven't driven with the new tires yet but the lift/shock combo I have now is more plush than the Savvy Foxs I had before. Its just been too long to note major differences. The biggest difference is having a 6 speed. I hated that auto!

First drive into work today with the tires and they are remarkably quiet. I know lots of people use that word quiet with other MTs when they're really not but these make less noise than the exhaust. Right now, Im running 26psi which I suspect is too high but will need to chalk test them first. I'd like to get my tire carrier reinstalled, after I put on the rugged ridge HD mount so that'll help the weight on the rear. In the past I didn't run a spare but with my daughter in the Jeep I wouldn't want to get stuck. Also, at 75 Im running 2800 rpms, doesn't seem bad. Based on what Ive read, that's about on point for stock gears. I still want to regear but wondering where 488s will put me at 75. Down here, you can run slower but it makes it difficult to manage traffic, merging and exiting.

Those 315’s look great! No body lift? Did the spidertrax address all rubbing? Looking good 👍🏼

Thank you. No body lift yet and no rubbing on everyday driving. Flexing will definitely have interference. Im doing a high line, some way shape or form, eventually. I have zero vibrations and not crazy on body lifts but will do whats necessary to avoid issues with clearance.

I’ve got to be honest, I’m really happy with how the build has come together. The color combo has grown on me and the lift height/tire size is dead on the look I was after for right now. Think I need to do something for a front bumper and now, with the POS rugged ridge tire carrier that claims to fit a 35”, I’ll need a bumper solution since I had to remove it to run a spare. Otherwise, super happy. Gears will be next I think, maybe a clutch job as the throw out bearing is noisy

I was just in your thread haha

I was originally going to do AEV or DIY as I like the OEM fender look, but it’d require dropping the lift I just spent coin on the look right. Not wanting to move to 37s and make them work, nor the cost associated. I may just leave as is and enjoy it. Dad and I want to build a motor together as a fun project so I’d rather put funds towards a meaningful project than highlines

Not much of an update, been driving the piss out of it honestly! Was in the shop for 5 days getting basically whole AC replaced, compressor took a shit and sent shards throughout the system. New compressor, accumulator, condenser and lines, all is well. Been getting a CEL for fuel sending unit, which was just replaced, allegedly, before I purchased so wondering if its a lose connection or if the pump/unit is faulty. Have a few things to do to it once I have time; oil flush kit from Amsoil, 15w40 Shell going in, new OE stabilizer, tailgate reinforcement hinges and tire bumps. Id eventually like to change the tail lights out but that a very low priority.

Other news selling my M6 to get back into a V8 M3. Which will mean more duty for the Jeep. Really looking forward to getting an M3 back, such a blast to drive. Also, soft top for the Jeep is a must. Hardtop just isn't appealing to me, at least down here.

Flowmasters. I had magnaflow on my last one without issue but these were $260 shipped quickly from Summit, fit excellent. They are a smaller cat and have heat shields, so you will need to remove the front drive shaft to install, other than that, simple process just tight spaces.
Where did you get the O2 sensors? Did you replace all of them or just the one? Been reading up on the Cat issues which I think I have too cause my acceleration is crappy. Even going down to 285s

I bought everything from Summit. They had the best prices/shipping during the early Covid months.

My acceleration got better as I ran the piss out of it. Make sure you’re running it hard to clear out any carbon build up

What do you use to wash that beauty?

Adams car shampoo on body, P&S brake buster on wheels tires and wheel wells. After it’s washed and still wet, spray down with Sonax spray and seal. It is ceramic coated with Cquartz UK 3.0 so I use the sonax as a topper. Not a huge fan on spray sealants but sonax seems to be the best. On the tires I use Carpro Pearl diluted 50/50 this doesn’t have an oil residue since it’s water based so dirt won’t stick. Especially good for Jeeps that see dirt.

Thanks, gonna have to place an order. Do you use anything special for washing and trying or just regular microfiber towels?

Got anything certain you like for the interior since you seem way more researched than me?
