Metalcloak fender test on stock suspension with 33s

I've passed over his BS for 6 weeks or better. Then like the Godfather, he keeps pulling me back in. His constant need to pound his suspension into every thread gets old, I speak up.

Does he PM you to come to his aid? I seem to get tag teamed in most of these threads involving JJ's hatred of MC.

No. I just get annoyed reading threads over and over where you (and others here) turn things into something they're not.

If you can't recognize that every single thing you put on/in your Jeep comes with inherent tradeoffs then there's no way to help you finally make conversations constructive.

You clearly can't since you'd rather argue with someone for whatever historic personal reasons than just maybe discuss how or when the tradeoffs should or should not be made.

There is certainly way more than one way to build a rig. But there is only very few ways you can build it right, where one is fully conscious of the impact of all the choices and make the trade-off decisions for the right technical/logical reasons and not based on feelings.

Whatever one has (or built) may seem to work sufficiently good for what one does with the vehicle. If you are happy with that, more power to you. But unless you can comprehend (or experience) what good actually is, you don't know what you are missing.

Understanding the right way to build not only will save you time and energy in the long run, but also directly will lead you to enjoying the vehicle more. This understanding can come the hard way (by making mistakes and learning from them) or the harder way (note: I did not say "easy") - by following and learning through the shared experiences of people around us. Harder because you have to really educate yourself to separate the wheat from the chaff and the fact from semi-truth/fiction. Either way, the education is very valuable.

Building optimal should never have to be optional. You can have fun building and still end up with a really well balanced rig. In the end, that's what matters.

Nicely said.

4 posts in your buddy veered this thread off into his bunny hole. Most of us didn't think it would go that quick!

PS: I havent said boo in any thread directed at JJ for at least 6 weeks.
And here you are running defense as usual, just like old times.

...

Again, explain to the crowd why the shock detail was incorrect or inappropriate. You can't because you don't know. Why are you here?

Tell us what all you've built, own, or work on besides your beloved 11 7/8" suspended TJ? Were all giddy to hear.

You're just being thick now.

Shock lengths are relevant to the measurements from the OP. All we can tell from that post is that their shocks aren't bottomed out before the tires contact the fender. Knowing that shock measurement gives useful info for what anyone else would want to know or compare with the OP's measurements.

But again, you're too focused on Josh to even consider anything besides arguing and instead be the derailer.

*sigh*

In my test I tried to be as fair and open as possible, with full disclosure of any alterations to the vehicle or issues. I wanted to find out for myself the truth about these fenders. I posted several times my own disclaimer that a lifted 33's would be more capable, that this is not an ultimate way to build for 33's, or the best or only way to do it. I also posted several times that 33's are realistically the largest you will fit on a stock TJ with these fenders, regardless of MC's claims, and the clearances will diminish with larger tires. I simply showed that it's a way to fit 33's on a stock TJ without having a degree in trig. How many times has there been a thread titled "Can I fit 33's on my stock TJ?" and a plethora of answers stating you need X lift. Well with X lift comes YZQK issues you need to resolve. Someone less experienced might figure it all out, or create a basket case jeep that never gets put together right or is an unstable hazzard on the road. If there is an alternative way to accomplish the same goal, namely fitting 33's on a stock TJ without messing with the suspension or steering, or some combination of fenders and springs, I'd want to know about it so I could make an informed decision about what's best for me and my requirements. That's the goal of the OP.

As far as comments about the appearance of the fenders, go nuts ye faceless usernames!
I care more about what my goldfish think of them.

JJ's real good at asking questions. Call it deflecting.
I''ve asked JJ a question 3 times in this thread (in case he's THICCCK and didn't catch it)
Why he doesn't answer?

Oh, because you're being an asshole and attacking him personally and what he spends his time on. That's not relevant in the slightest and you're just showing your character of being a jerk that needs to be right at all costs.

Deflecting yet again.
So you've done nothing else in life you would like to share? Just your TJ? Nothing more to contribute?

IMO you did a great job of explaining and pointing out where you had contact and other issues that came up. So again in my opinion this was a great thread and offered up information that was relevant.
And yes you did point out that this was on a stock suspension TJ more than once.

I like the look of the Overline so I'm in agreement with your goldfish.

You aren't paying attention to what is being talked about.
Your reading more into my comment than was actually there. Just like you read more into the OP than what was there. All for the sake of bashing on MC fenders because you don't like them.

I used Savvy groupies as a descriptor of persons that are hating on MC fenders not because Savvy makes fenders because we all know they don't, but because you are well known for your love of all things Savvy and their shortcomings such as not providing detailed instructions with their products get a pass because of your love of the product.
