@mrblaine, will you suggest the most likely places my TCase is leaking ATF? I’ve already checked the mating surfaces of both halves after cleaning everything up and they seem fine. All the ATF is on the drivers side, all the way from the front of the transmission back to the front output shaft., up high on the tub, covering the savvy transfer case cable, blowing over to the frame on the driver’s side. There’s none on top of the TCase, and the vent tube is secure and dry. All I know to check is the outer seal on the front output shaft. If that’s the problem, does a new seal require RTV on the outer and inner edges at install? Anything else to check, I’m tired of taking the case apart. This will be the third time. Argh...
Clean it off with degreaser until clean enough to see a leak start. Go drive and inspect.

Done. What’s the best RTV? That thin spot under the magnet is a PITA to get to seal. Everything cleaned and ready to go.

I have used with equal success meaning 100% no failures Mopar gear sealant for oily surfaces, Mopar RTV for trans fluid, Right Stuff, some generic bullshit included with a cheap diff cover, and a few others.
I guess I just suck at applying it. Damn I was careful.

Unless it is the Mopar oily surface, any ATF in that area will make it leak. Also, with the Mopar ATF specific stuff, it has a very short open time before it skins over. Biggest issue is getting it applied and then screwing that up putting the back half on. Just gotta be careful.

I use “the right stuff” one minute gasket personally and it’s never not worked. But I don’t have as much experience with others
Same for me. It was the recommended RTV from novak too.

I think the TCase is sealed now. I got everything really clean, let it dry overnight, picked up some of The Right Stuff 1 Minute Black. I would have bought the Mopar RTV, but I'm leaving town Wednesday for a 200 mile trip into the snowy mountains and I couldn't find any local. But, I think this worked. I went out and drove off-road in the snow and all over town for a total of about 1 hour driving and only had one small drip coming out from one of the extension housing bolts. I gave it another 1/8" turn on top of the 30ft/lb torque and we will see if that does it.

Update on the 4:1 Tera Low. The whirring sounds is hardly noticeable in 1st gear, it is more noticeable in 2nd and even more in 3rd. Something that at least makes me mindful not to trespass 2500rpm's. It will be interesting because 81:1 is far slower than the 56:1 crawl ratio I had before. I see myself in 4H a lot more than before. It's no problem, because when I want that low gear, it's there, and there's so much control it's unreal.

The gear whine definitely reminds you of that threshold.
