To an extent. He was on meds that made him "normal". He refuses to take the meds now and though he can "act" normal, he does weird stuff. You know, talks to himself, plays with himself, and sleeps outside on the concrete. LOL He basically functions ok, it's just he can't stay focused long to accomplish anything like a work situation or finding a place to live. He would have to have his Mom do things like that. He can read an understands what he reads though. We know that because he tore up the first eviction notice that we gave him. He's also one of those ones that (can't think of the actual wording, but impulsive something or other) tweaks on things, like he has to lock his door each time he goes out, even if it is to just turn and smoke a cig in front of it. He has to have things clean. Even his garbage cans, inside and outside of them.
He would do good if his Mom would buy him his own place, maybe with few neighbors. He can cook and function like that. Either that or rent him a place where the landlord doesn't see all the weird stuff he does. LOL So basically, he is just sane enough to not be deemed a problem to society. They won't take him away and put him in a home. He can act sane as can be around officials.
Hubby told me today that he is going to talk to him and let him know, if he is going to sleep outside on the ground, he would save $600 a month if he just moved. That way he wouldn't have to pay us the rent. Who knows, maybe he will go for it? LOL
But, he probably won't burn it. LOL
