I'm not claiming victory yet, but I drove the Jeep this morning and had no drama. Admittedly, I didn't really push it past 65 mph, and babied it to avoid any large bumps or washboard type surfaces. On the plus side, the A/C is freezing cold and the Jeep has been running right at 210°, even in 100° weather.

I think this weekend I'll work on installing the transmission cooler and temperature gauge. After mulling over which cooler to go with, I'm sticking with a B&M stacked plate cooler. These have served me well and I can't justify the 3X price difference for a Setrab. However, I am changing which B&M cooler I use. In the past it was a 70264, which has 3/8" nipple fittings. The 70273 is the same size (11" x 5-3/4" x 1-1/2"), but has a slightly higher BTU rating and uses 1/2" NPT fittings. I'll run a 1/2" to 6AN fitting with a 90° push lock fitting for the ingress and egress.

I just finished up replacing my JKS front track bar with a Currie one and I've had similar issues with the JKS. I stupidly put a wash on the top under the nut that resulted in broken bolt on the trail. I ended up using no washer and red locktite and it help great. I hope that fixes it!!

The part that frustrated me the most was I spent $1500 (Savvy arms and JKS track bar) and 6+ hours to give myself death wobble. :cautious:

I'd like to get a good baseline of transmission temperatures before installing the transmission cooler. With that in mind, I spent a few hours today installing a transmission temperature gauge. It wasn't the color I'd want, but it was in a box of parts that were included when I bought the Jeep. If it bugs me enough, I'll swap it out later.

I'm not saying it's fast, but it's a record for me. 45 minutes to remove and rebuild the rear drive shaft.

Gathered the first set of transmission temperature data from a 35 minute drive this morning and 60 minute drive this afternoon. The trips included a mix of highway and idle time. I'll collect more over the next several days, which will give me a good average to see the impact of a cooler.

Ambient TemperatureHighway TemperaturePeak TemperatureOther Information
77°116°160°
78°121°169°Heavy rain and humidity

Nice work on the gauge install. Did you use this Dorman pan?

After driving the Jeep for a few days, I'm going to claim victory with death wobble. However, after bending a second ZJ conversion on the TJ, I ordered a Currie CorrectLync.

Somehow I was lucky and got a stupid good deal on the Currie setup. That showed up today and will be paired with the BMB tie rod.

When did you bend the 2nd one? I read you bet one recently but didn't know there were 2. Just curious because I have the ZJ setup in my shop waiting to put on some day.
